Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. So I just got Jamestown.

Doing ok on Sixaxis, but I'm gonna switch over to my LS-32 stick ASAP

Good game that. Especially love the title music in it.

I spent an hour or two last night trying to get a controller to work on my Mac with Jamestown. It wasn't reading the directional pad on my Hori stick for some reason :( And for some bizarre reason you have to go back and rebind the directional keys after you've set the other ones :/ Which is no help when you can't move the cursor in the unusually awkward control selection screen.

Eventually found a solution online that got my Sixaxis running through Bluetooth (surprisingly easily!), and used a keyboard emulation app to map keys. It's a messy solution - has a strange habit of selecting two players on the player select screen unless I use the keyboard - but hey it works! Going to try and do the same with the aracde stick today.

Anyway, nice to have a version that runs much smoother than it did on my PC, although to add one last insult it doesn't seem to have Steam Cloud save features so have to work my way through all the levels and challenges again. Won't take long, but still a slight frustration.

Festive high score challenge anyone :pac: Still pay what you want for a while for anyone who has yet to pick it up, plus amazing other games too!

I love the Humble Bundles, I'll be getting this purely for Jamestown though, didn't know it was a part of the latest bundle, thanks Mr. Ultimate. :)

By the way, Voxatron is awesome, pick that up if you haven't already, although I think it's gone up to $15 now.

Voxatron is indeed awesome. It fairly ramps up the difficulty when you get into a bit.

Didnt know that about Jamestown though! good news indeed.

There's so many humble bundles at this point (think there's been three in the last two months or so) I keep losing track of what games I have :pac: Think I have a copy of Voxatron knocking around somewhere alright! Usually pay 12 dollars - I tend to feel bad paying less than that given the amount of stuff you get!

The new one really is a good deal. Jamestown is worth a purchase on its own terms. Cave Story, Super Meat Boy and Shank are superb bonuses, and the extra games are surely worth a quick whirl too. Alas a few are destined to languish in the Steam Library unplayed for decades hence :P

Is that Humble Bundle version of Jamestown completely independent of Steam do you know? As in you can run it like a standalone exe?

You get steam keys and a standalone download :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,328 ✭✭✭Pyongyang

I don't use Steam but there's a DDL right? Like yourself Mr. U, I always pay well above the average amount. Mainly because it's such good value, it helps charity obviously but you also get access to the odd added extra sometimes. Such as with Voxatron, they added two extra games for anyone that paid over the average. :)

Nice one. I had the standard edition pre-ordered back in August, thankfully they let me cancel it the day LE was announced so I could pre-order the same day.

    Can't wait for it!

Just cleared ESPGALUDA II HD on the iPad 2 and I must say they did a really good job on it.
It's a bit pricey for what it is but I think it's worth it and it looks and runs amazing on the iPad screen.

For charity you say? And soundtrack for Jamestown!?

This is relevant to my interests :)

Just picked up the Humble Bundle this morning. Doubt I'll get to give any of the games a shot until next week though. :(

Excited for Jamestown. Hopefully it'll be a commercial success and we'll have lots of sequels such as:

    Walshestown
    Julianstown
    Bettystown
Garrettstown (named after that bloke from Thief?)
    and
    Phibsborough

...and so on. Exciting times! :)

You can now download the soundtracks to all the games in that Humble Bundle 4. Chuffed Jamestown & SMB run as standalone without Steam, perfect for playing on the cab. Wonder would Cave Story+ suit the controls too. :)

Have a shmup playing beside me here and it got me thinking would the experts on here recognise a particular shmup just from the in game sounds you hear in demo mode. Here's a recording I made by holding the phone up to the tv speaker (so not great quality). Curious if anyone would recognise it. :)

    Mystery Shmup

That's Espgaluda on PS2 in attract mode. 99.9% certain.

Is anyone else ordering Gunlord? I'm really keen to get that Newcomer Bundle, not decided yet though as it's got a mixed reaction across communities.

65 milk tokens nets you three games including Fast Striker 1.5 and Last Hope: Pink Bullets!

Nice idea, me likey! I could listen to Batrider all night!

Must get in to some Jamestown but alas I've gifts to wrap tonight. Pav was absolutely JAMMERS tonight. Still, all done now. No more shopping.

Fingers crossed I dropped enough hints to get Dimahoo for my Christmas and Birthday present. Somehow I doubt it, I'll probably end up with something 'practical', like socks, a new shirt for work...... or a piano.

Anyone know when Sturmwind is shipping as i have it delivered to my workplace, but we are closed from the 23rd - 3rd of Jan, I don't want it to be shipped back :)

Still says 22/12 but I'm a bit concerned we've had no updates yet...

I spoke with the CEO, oddly enough, the day the LE was announced, he said it was still on course for 22/12. I hope it's not delayed again. :(

    F**K! It's been delayed.

The CD pressing plant went in to liquidation.

    GREAT. :mad::mad::mad:

    Press release:

Production complications: Sturmwind is about to be delayed
Written by redspotgames at 19. December 2011

    English:
Production complications: Sturmwind is about to be delayed

In spite of best planing, the release of Sturmwind has to be postponed: Our long-term CD-ROM manufacturer surprisingly had to declare bankruptcy after 19 years in business. From 40 employees only a few remained. Therefore this resulted in the situation that the scheduled delivery date for Sturmwind could not be met in the end.

The only possibility has been to relocate the production – to avoid further delays of the bankrupt facility. Nevertheless items like the spaceship models have been completely manufactured already. Our new partner is one of the largest videogame CD / DVD press plants in Europe with over 50 years of experience in medium production. In the meanwhile we already placed our production order for Sturmwind.

The release date is set to TBA (“to be announced”) consequently.

Details are currently clarified between redspotgames, Duranik and the new facility. Also we are arranging material for another announcement with more exact information within December, which will be after Christmas however. All orders in the redspotgames online shop will remain valid.

No, although I signed up for the email notification. Odd.

Really fecked off with that. It's been delayed longer than a Landrod Erin commuter train, and that's some serious feckin delay action going on there.

Yep, payments were taken. Though I would assume they will refund if you want it refunded. I'm going to stick with it though as they said another announcement will come by year end.

If it's just a matter of pressing discs I reckon we'll see it by end of January. My guess at least...

I'd say end of January is a fair estimate.

I must say that espgaluda 2 HD on the iPad 2 is a very nice portable Cave game to have(playing it right now in the airport).
If thats in the sale and you have an iPad 2(as it only runs on the iPad 2) go for it.

I picked it up last week for 10.99, should have waited.
    Oh well.
