You went above and beyond the call of duty Jousting with this thread.

That is exactly what i was looking for. Nice one! :)

I'll be buying all you linked in the new year and give it a go. I'll wait until then for questions :P, but i'm sure there are a multitude of Youtube vids to show the mixing process.

    No bother,
if you do deicide to order from Vapebase check their FB page first, they often give 10% off deals that can be used with the 7% off for first order so big savings to be had.

This is good info for sure. I recently discovered Vapebase (No doubt from a mention here) and their price for bulk bases for DIY is way lower than most.

I just received a litre of 50/50 18mg base which cost a touch over 50 euro delivered. It got here in fours days from time of ordering.

Along with my order from Octopus Ecigs for a heap of Greedy Monkey concentrate I'm good to go way into 2015!

Yeah,I can't fault their service or product.

I just had a look at the Octopus Ecigs site and if the currency converter is right,

    60.00 DKK = 8.07 EUR

the Greedy Monkey concentrate can be got cheaper in Ireland.

I like the Bubbers Bounty an odd time even though I've moved away from tocbacco flavours.

Another little tip to make life easy,

Stand your bottle of VG in warm water for about 10 minutes (give it an odd shake) before you start mixing, this makes it a lot more fluid so it's a lot easier to pour or syringe into bottles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,568 ✭✭✭Ionised

Good tip regarding the vg and warm water. I generally leave made up liquid in a warm water bath for an hour and then give it a shake. In my head this aids mixing.

Esmoke still list the Basement Brew concentrates but haven't had any stock in months. Also they have not replied to three emails on the subject. I'd prefer to get it locally but no one else seems to stock it.

It's been a while since I ordered the BB concentrates from there but I thought they still had them because they took down the Wingnuts concentrates when they stopped doing them.
I think they have plans to do the Wingnut concentrates again but they have been so busy with the new shop opening that it could be while but they should be able to buy in the others.

The warm water bath will definitely help with the mixing as it keeps the VG more fluid.I give mine a 30 minute cycle in the Ultra-sonic cleaner and that seems to help but some juices like custards just need time.

I mixed up 200ml of T-juice's Colonel Custard on the 6th, I haven't tried it yet but it's smelling lovely.

Can those egrip coils handle 100% VG? Heard a lot of people complaining about dry hits with high VG in them.

No the stock heads are total ****e !

The reviews were all saying it stays consistent at 20 watts, in my experience with a pack of 5 coils, 2 of them were OK at about 15 watts.

    Found a trick tho !
You can actually use the BVC heads !

Take the pin from the stock egrip head and insert it into the BVC, threads straight in and preforms like a champ !!!

Hey Jousting, here's what I found, these are the lads I normally get my hangsen flavours off, looks like they're doing a good deal on DIY stuff too:

    http://www.bargainvapour.com/2_Litre_VEGETABLE_GLYCERIN_-_VG/p1274299_11575722.aspx and same for PG

Later edit: I went ahead and got Red Astaire, Quintessence and some Pomme Pom along with the necessary PG/VG liquids. That's it, I'm getting into the game:)

JwC, can I ask if you diluted the VG or not? And if yes, was that with vodka or distilled water? Cheers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 934 ✭✭✭jousting with chairs

    Hey Boogie

No I didn't dilute it but it was VG mixed about 50:50 with Fogbase which is a diluted VG that I got from Vapebase.
I have diluted in the past for use in tanks with a couple of drops of Vodka in a 10ml bottle of juice just to help with wicking and a bit of throat hit at lower wattage.

€20 per litre seems very expensive for PG/VG and someone mentioned here before that their shipping was high as well but you have it bought now and will still save money by making your own juice.

    Cheers for the info.
I actually went ahead and bought everything from your recommendation - ezsmoke. Something must have been wrong on the vapebase site, it was showing different prices last time i checked, now it seems to be much better, I'll give that a go for my future batches if I'm any handy with this stuff:)
There's also toscanamall.com if you're interested in other concentrates, I found that website a while ago but I didn't pay any mind to it as I wasn't intersted in doing my own liquids. Now it seems interesting.

Also here's a cool tip, I found Muji unbleached japanese cotton - 140 pads for a friggin fiver. That'll last me years!! PM me if you want some, there's a Muji shop in Dublin.

I made my first batch of Red Astaire out of concentrate, (boring numbers are 65/35 vgpg, 1ml of Vodka for a bit of a crispy kick, 10% flavour amount and 10mg nic level) and I'm chuffed on how this thing rolls!
It's a killer already although I only mixed it on Saturday evening, so happy it's not a long steeper.
Thanks a mil for all the handy tips JwC, you're a star!

Sorry for the double post, couldn't edit the previous one.

Hmm if Parcel Motel isn't an option, let me know

"MUJI UK can only ship orders to delivery locations within Great Britain, the EU, and mainland United States and Canada. We can ship orders to anywhere with a postcode in the UK which covers Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, and the Scottish isles. "

There is a walk in Muji shop in Dublin, don't know where as I'm from the arse end of the country but I remember the guys on FB on about it.
You can get Sheidio Cotton pads on-line from Sam Mcauly's or if there is a Debenhams near you they usually have a Sheideo stand somewhere in the store.

It's right off Grafton St., smack dab in the middle of the city. Shiseido looks the same and since Muji's entire brand mission is that there is no brand on their products (just quality, unbranded stuff so that there's no marketing manipulation), they may as well be the same thing! It's great that you can order them online in Ireland or from walk-in shops like Debenhams, boiling cotton from Tesco is a thing from the past now.
