I was awakened by a mighty crash of thunder! This cell exploded from the Irish Sea at 5.30am about 25 miles east of Balbriggan and moved southwestwards to strike Killiney Hill about 6.30.

It was a whopper.

Needless to say - it completely missed us here - (as the crow flies Loughlinstown is only four miles SW away)

Hit close by here 10 minutes ago, south of the Wicklow mountains. Temperature fell from 6º to 1.2º c.
Biggest hailstones I've ever seem and there is about 2 cm of white stuff on the ground.

Looks like Arklow was just hit by a second cell?

The Loughlinstown cell expanded into a vast shower covering the entire spine of the Wicklow Mountains and moved south to collide with another cell coming in off the sea - just above Arklow Town I'd say

Meanwhile, a few miles north, an existential gloom pervades.....

On closer examination, the collision took place a bit south of Arklow - directly over Camolin.

Anyone still alive in North Wexford?

Don't know about north Wexford, but we're surviving here north of Arklow.
Bit bloody cold though - ground is still covered but the shower has eased and there's a glimmer of light over the sea.
