Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont get the love for Astra's from some people on here. Apart from the OPC (and even that I'm not too keen on) I dont see why anyone would ever consider one?

But then again I guess the Focus is somewhat the same, apart from the ST/RS I wouldn't have considered one.

you obviously need to hang around here more cos there is NO love for astras around here!

I hang around quite a bit actually, but they seem to pop up quite often and a fair few people here seem to own them...

Only going by what I have seen. ;)

My name's Niall, and like Alan I drive a shitty car.

Stuck the exhaust back on over the weekend - mother of god what a job. Had to whack it back on with my largest ratchet (don't have a hammer) and a fair amount of force. It's the most amount of physical effort I've put into fixing a car yet.

In the end I couldn't push the exhaust in far enough to get the exhaust hangers to line up so I had to use the ratchet to dent the inner bumper enough to get it over the inner sill. Finally got it into place, stuck it on the hangers and reinforced it with duct tape. Success! And lots of large rust flakes all over the place. Actually the back of the car is rusting to bits.

1.6 Mk1 Focus soon!
I like your style. If it don't fit then MAKE IT FIT!

Keep an eye on the bangernomics thread for a clean Alfa 156 with NCT. Going for very little these days but try find a 1.6TS. Lovely motors and I don't think you would regret it once you drive one really. Huge amount of car for pennies. :D

Ford's are over-rated shítboxes!!

I feel better now!
And I should have bought that Bravo HGT that I saw 3 years ago with 1 owner, 48k miles and full Fiat service history in the UK for ST£850 asking... because nobody knows how cool they really are.
Also the 205 GTi isn't the best Peugeot hot hatch, the 306 GTi-6 Rallye is.
There... I said it.

I disagree. My reliability has been rubbish tbh.

Also, they are surprisingly good to drive in the right spec for what they are. And I'll stand over that despite the p1ss take. I didn't even have one on the radar when I was looking.

Clearly the only Skoda to buy is a Roomster because of what it says about the driver - keep well clear of me, my eyesight is so bad I can't even see that the front and rear doors are completely mismatched. Clearly the car to drive if you want a clear road to yourself.

Onto the intro/history part, name's Marcus (hardly a surprise). History is bizarre, learned how to drive 4 years ago at 35. Cars so far: Vauxhall Signum 1.9 cdti (8v) then 6 months later added a Mini Clubman Cooper S and in July gone past, swapped the Signum for a RR Supercharged 4.2 V8. Clearly I'm having a midlife crisis but at least my cars are going in the right direction.

(Just joking about the Skodas, I'd seriously consider a Superb for the legroom.)

Still it makes me wonder would it be good for a few extra BHP if I put it in the diesel tank

I hate Top gear, those three old men should be sacked in exchange for a younger persons point of view. Hammand is so bloody scripted, it's like everything he says he planned to say it 6 months ago. Clarkson is one of those people who I'd love to knock out. The other fella is abit strange and his personality does not really fit the show. I want the old Top gear from the 90's back.

Why does 'Dave' and 'Setanta' always show episodes from 2004'?

BMW e46's are oil leaking, coolant dripping, bottom ball joint knocking piles of premium sh!te!

The old Skoda jokes from years ago are still fresh in my mind and I secretly laugh everytime I see an Octavia.

I love LASAGNE.

My neughbours daughter is a foookn roide!

I wouldn't hate on Top Gear but I completely agree on the scripted thing, he says everything in that same annoying voice all the time... James May I think tries to be more clever than he is and Clarkson well I used to laugh at him but now it's just painful listening to him.

I laugh everytime I see somebody driving a big '07/'08 Range Rover petrol yoke just thinking of how worthless that car is or how a BMW 645ci is also worth sweet fcuk all too.

:D

Oh where are my manners...

Hi, I'm Mal :)

I drive a rattly, squeaky blue van which is disappearing for the winter...

Every car I've insured under my own name, I've had to put together

I have an unhealthy obsession with collecting cars, cut down this year to just 7 under my name

In my spare time I only work on my current collection, somehow...

I don't really do anything else, except college schtuff

I have a sweet tooth and as a result have lost a tooth, have 12 fillings and 2 root canals. Costly...

I hate most modern music...

I learned to drive at 12 and got my first car at 15 :)

Er I think that's a decent insight into my tunnel vision lifestyle :D

Been in a few of them and was so disappointed, hated the exterior but I found the interior to be quite small for a car that was so big. It was on 20 inch wheels too and the ride was crap. Oh and it cost over €100k!

Disgusting thing. Volvo XC90 is so much better.
