Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You must have been given wrong information as they are definitely working on claims with a start date of 17/11/11.
Your claim would be counted as a 17 November claim as payments only start from the first Thursday after the application is received in the FIS department.11/11/11 was a Friday so that would be then 17/11/11.

Do you have your acknowledgement letter to double check the date?

Every claim goes to a deciding officer, you will know the decision before the end of the week.

Just rang them. All I get is that they are working that date now. Won't be this week. We actually can't take anymore! I'm so upset now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,553 ✭✭✭✭yabadabado

They are working on 17/11/11 and its nearly impossible to give an exact date when a persons claim will be processed because every date will have different amounts of claims. It all depends on how many people applied on that date,it could be anything between 300 to nearly 1000.

  • Registered Users Posts: 29 cheyni

We applied for FIS on 24th November and STILL waiting on a decision. My husband rang last week and was told they were on 18th Nov so should hear back soon. Today he rang to be told they were dealing with 18th Nov (?) and will be another 2-3 weeks before we hear anything !! Has anyone applied on or around the same date and recieved theirs already (It was a new claim) ??

You poor thing. Its horrible isn't it. Waiting and not knowing. The government need to sort this mess out. Its the same every yr. The people working on applications must be so stressed

Thanks Nasher 1982. it is a complete mess, this is supposed to help people, but actually the whole process is so stressful, the wondering and the waiting. At least coming on here you get proper information and can get some idea of what dates there on. Not sure with tomorrow being Good Friday will it be Tuesday before anything could go into my account, have to wait and see and prey :)

Doubt it being honest. Payments r usually in the account on a Thursday. I haven't had my Fis in over a yr now. Was refused last yr because my hrs were cut to 17hrs per wk for 3wks the previous yr again.had a communion lst yr to.as a single parent it was hard. This yr my bro is getting married in santorini.can't afford to save for it.bills r paid thank God. But need Fis to see my only bro get married

My confirmation letter was the 11th. I've been told that actually means the 17th, the following Thursday! I sure hope so. Last maternity payment went through last week. I won't get paid from work until the end of the month. So u can imagine how important this is! Payment has to come through this week!

That means payments run from 24/11/11.Thats the best date to work off as some dates will have huge differences in the volume of claims but the weekly date(Thursday) will always be fairly similar.

First time applications can go into the bank any day of the week, its always 2 working days after the date it was processed and then a Thursday after that.
You should check your bank a/c as it often goes into the a/c before the letter is received.

yabadabado, if my date is the 2nd of dec, does that mean as this is a friday, il have to wait till the following thurs 8th of dec, for my claim to be looked at??

If claims were straightforward that would be the case but they're not. Also there is a huge backlog of claims.

No,it will be looked at when they reach the claims registered on the 2/12/11 but your first payment date is from 8/12/11.

I get all that, but, from my point of view I left wondering what will we do for the week, if nothing comes through tomorrow. I don't want to ring them again to fine out!

Look at it like this.if there are 400 claims for the 24/11/11 and they are all crap with nothing straightforward,it is gonna take much longer to process a date compared to a date where there are fewer claims.
Its nearly impossible to give someone a exact date as to when their claim will be processed because no one knows what claims will be like until each one is gone through individually.every claim is different and there are no set figures as to the amount each applicant receives, only income limits.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23 Liz23

Checked bank, nothing there, so rang FIS. Told my application has been approved, however with supervised as the amount involved is quite large. That's all great and everything, but what do we do for this week!
