im going to have to keep waiting, mad to go to another gig but there's nothing really confirmed so far that actually has me excited even yela who i think is alright.

but if drake confirms lamar is on tour with him, il be there if it kills me.:)

Saw that the Yelawolf gig is over 14s with no alcohol served at all. Not sure if I'll head to it yet. If I do though would hope for a slightly older crowd than that. Doesn't fill me with much confidence seeing over 14s.

Souls of Mischief are touring in the UK next month.
    March 5th Norwich Arts Centre
    March 6th Ipswich The Swan
    March 7th Manchester Roadhouse
    March 9th Penzance Sound
    March 10th Cardiff The Moon
    March 11th London Jazz Cafe
    March 12th Leeds The Wells
March 13th Edinburgh The Electric Circus
    March 14th Glasgow Classic Grand

They seem to be playing a few festivals in Europe this summer as well. You never know we might see them at Electric Picnic possibly, or preferably for a gig on their own.

I'm seriously tempted to head over to the gig in Edinburgh. It's only £10 for a ticket and the flights are €26 return with Ryanair. I've been to Edinburgh before and it's a handy enough place to get around. The venue is right beside the main railway station in the city.

€38 for flights and ticket. I think The Game was around €40 to see a few months. When you look at it like that then it'd be criminal nearly not to head on over.

Now to try and convince some of my friends to come over as well. That'll be the hard part.

Talib Kweli is also playing in the UK next month: London, Manchester and Glasgow. Tickets are around £25 but it could be another one worth a trip over for. If I'd lads to go with I'd probably head.

Bit frustrating because he seems to be playing everywhere in Europe bar here. Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden, England, Scotland, Norway and Germany about 10 times.

Tanya Morgan should be playing Dublin and Galway soon as well.

Ireland is being overlooked because generally there are poor crowds and little activity at merch stands. There is also the additional cost of flights to and from Ireland. Whereas the rest of the tour can mostly done by bus or rail.
So it's not exactly cost effective to play here.

Although, the last Kweli gig here was jammed.

I have a promoter friend who mainly does drum n bass gigs, he wants to dabble into the hip hop market but he reckons the risk is too high.

That's interesting about the merchandising, the prices are usually outrageous but I imagine that's the same everywhere.

Golden Plec and Rap Ireland are having comps to win tickets. No harm in entering them to save your self a tenner.

DJ Angelo is in the Grafton Lounge tonight, free in.

He's real good, uses all differnt types of controllers in his set.

Anyone else going to Just Blaze? Getting my tickets now, convinced one of my mates to go with me..not sure what to expect but he's definitely a favorite producer of mine, not going to miss him when he's here.

I'd definitely go if I was still in college in Maynooth. The journey from Kilkenny is a bit much for this. Hopefully he'll pop down here on the Sunday night :P.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,213 ✭✭✭PrettyBoy

Don't believe it...finished up in college today and dropped into Ticketmaster on the way home, got 2 tickets for Just Blaze. Just after getting home now, checked my email and see that I've won the competition for 2 tickets that Boom Bap told me to enter the other day!

    Typical! :P

Roots Manuva, Azealia Banks and (best of all) The Roots have been confirmed for Electric Picnic.

If I get a bit of a job over the summer then I'll seriously consider going to this. I'd love to see The Roots live.

I'm not even a big roots fan but that would be well worth goin to, my da has seen wu tang clan and snoop dogg at oxegen and the fúcker doesn't even like rap, he's seen two legendary acts that I'll probably never get to see!

Fair play to him. My dad would hardly know who Snoop is, never mind the Wu.

Last year DJ Shadow was on the bill. I'd love to have seen him as well. Tickets are €230. I'd have to wait to see who else is playing before committing. The Cure will be very good, but the likes of Ed Sheeran turns me off.

Wish The Roots came over for a gig on their own.

It'd hardly be that weekend I'd say. They'll probably be one of the top acts on the Saturday or Sunday.

If anything it'd be a few days before or a few after. Hopefully before. If after then I might be gone to Wales to start a course over there. I'd probably start crying if it meant I had to miss them.

Yeah the academy usually has over 18 's gigs and have the bars open - I'm not sure if they're expecting a younger crowd for this one? I got my ticket, I don't mind under 18s at all i just hop it doesn't feel like an underage disco ha!

That gig was great, wasnt expecting to be 'wowed' like that. Tanya Morgan and Bodega Brothers put on a great show. BB's had a much more tighter performance...put perhaps a bit too amped for the crowd. TM seemed a bit thrown together, one of them towards the end just realised they had a set list! And DJ Flip made them hold up the show so they could find a beat for a song he wanted them to perform. He even got up on stage to film it.

But, the sad thing is, poor crowd attentance, as Flip said to me, if this was 2008, the place would be rammed. Very true.

Enjoyed the gig. BB were better on the night. Tanya Morgan although enjoyable didn't do it for me. Lots of stuff from their newer ep which I haven't listened to much. They probably could have done with playing more of the album tracks.

Looking forward to action bronson & shabazz palaces in the twisted pepper. Great sound.
