Surely a late late late slot could be procured and then taped by those interested.
As regards the RnR promo I hope it did not give away too much in that Eoin changes his mind...

Agree with all you guys, very disappointing that the old episodes are not being shown this summer. I would hope that they would reconsider their decision and hope that this is not a sign of things to come for summers from now on.

Surely TG4 could have found a slot in-between their repeats of Bonanza and Little House on the Prairie? I mean, it is an Irish language station after all, right?

The whole of Season 4 is on youtube but I don't see any other seasons there bar the odd random episode. I'm not sure what season they were on last summer but it was definately after this one as Berni is still pregnant in these.

Ah, that's awful sad news. He's been there from the start and was one of the hearts and soul of the show. A great actor and a great character. A friend of mine, who is also a fan of the show, met him once and she reckoned that what saw what was you got. A genuine man.

Farewell Diarmuid, you will be missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I was lucky enough to meet him once myself. An absolute gent and very similar to his character in many ways.

    R.I.P Diarmuid/ Seamus.

He and Tadhg in scenes together, were always my favourite parts of Ros na Run.

What a great actor, gutted to hear the bad news today, what a legend and a true gentleman, will never forget the scenes with Coilin, always arguing with one another over silly stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,827 ✭✭✭madmaggie

He will be a huge loss. I loved his scenes with David, trying to hide the poteen. RIP Seamus Mhicil Tom.

What sad news! Seamus was my absolute favorite character on Ros na Run. Reminded me so much of some of the auld fellas back home. Diarmuid portrayed him so perfectly. From reading the tributes, it appears that he was a great gentleman in his own right. RIP Diarmuid, you will be missed.

Only after hearing that Seamus is dead

    RIP Seamus

I was away from RnR on here for a while as I didn't want to read any spoilers so it is shocking to hear that Seamus has moved on. A great actor and always fun to watch. RIP

Did you guys see the tribute video TG4 threw together the day after he died? No subtitles on it, and some of the scene choices are bit random, but it's still a good watch. So sad that he's passed away, the show just won't be the same without him. I hope they manage to write a good story for Séamus's exit... :(

I can't understand why they have dropped classic Ros na Run from the summer schedule, they repeat a program called is ma lom pop every 12 days.

Missed it! :( Any idea if it will be repeated or will be on the TG4 Player to watch back on the website?

Doesn't appear to be listed on the TG4 player I am afraid :(
It only briefly covered his role in Rosnarun but his early career as a publican and then fisherman was interesting.

That's a real shame. I'd love to have seen that! If it pops up later, please post here... :)

Between that and not showing the repeats, I hope that TG4 are not losing faith in Ros na Rún.... :(

Just watched it myself. It was very good - TG4 used to be great at doing documentaries, it's a shame they don't put as much focus on the documentaries as they used to.

That was filmed 10 years ago, so hopefully they do a new special commemorating Diarmuid's life soon with people telling stories about him, because I've heard some great ones myself through mutual friends and acquaintances over the years.

We lost a good man and a good actor.

Thank you for passing along the info on the little documentary. It was lovely and I posted a link to share with friends on FB.

I wonder what will happen on RnR now?

The new series returns on September 1st. The promo shows Jason identifying a body.

The question is this; whose body?

Lee maybe? That'd be an interesting way to explain where she disappeared to.

    It's definitely not
Tadhg - I'm confident he survives the fiery coffin, I'd put money on it

Seamus? :( They probably had to rewrite the episode when Diarmuid died, Seamus was shown in the bar during the whole coffin-in-flames thing. Unless they filmed some of the first episodes along with the cliffhanger...

Lee would make sense too though, it's always bothered me that no-one reported her missing or thought to go looking for her. It's totally out of character for a lot of them not to care when someone quite clearly struggling with depression just disappears.

Probably do what they usually do - build up to an end of season "cliff hanger", then resolve it in the first five minutes of the opening episode of the new season before forgetting all about it, along with all the previous seasons storylines, before moving on to whatever they have lined up for the new season....

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,725 ✭✭✭Kauto0709

    Back tonight!!! So excited!!

I bet Eoin goes back and rescues Tadhg, and the body that Jason is identifying is Lee's.

Good opener. Even though I had guessed it, I've known for certain since June that Tadhg wasn't going to die, so it was never much of a cliffhanger for me - I probably would've preferred not knowing.

It was great to see Séamus appear, although it was sad at the same time as it will be one of his final appearances (think he might also show up on Thursday, but that will probably be his last episode) :(

I know I nearly cried....:( Otherwise a great opener. As for the body Emer perhaps? She was driving away pretty fast and pretty upset and drunk.
    Or perhaps Seamus?

I tried to watch the documentary but either TG4 was being temperamental or my internet service was. So I'll try again tomorrow morning.

It could be Emer, I hadn't thought of her. My bet's still on Lee though!
I doubt it's Seamus, I imagine they will handle his death a lot more sensitively than that.

I really think it's gonna be Eimear now after the teaser on Tues. Was so sad to see Seamus appear :( I hope they do him justice in the exit story.

Also, how bad were those CGI flames? :pac:

Maybe Lee or Emer =Poor Eion. I do not think that they are a sweet couple ;)

More than likely Seamus passing will be a beautiful episode be sure to bring the tissues.

By the way I finally got to watch that documentary on Duirmuind beautiful documentary for a beautiful life.

Went back and looked at the scenes at Jason's house again and she is wearing a black cardigan and has red nails so it must be her!! I didn't see that coming at all!! Gráinne has been in it a long time, I am surprised to see her leaving.

Wow. A of wild guessing going on here........and some of it is based on the strangest evidence ever! Not to mention being completely wrong, of course.... :pac:
