Rudd gets a light sentence, wonder will they jettison Slade the second it finishes :pac:

    www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-33456793

But seriously at least he's looking better than he did when he was arrested initially.

They had taken all of his stash, he had nothing to calm his nerves...
On top of that, he was under arrest.. :pac:

Please God he turns his life around now so that maybe we won't have seen or heard the last of Phil performing again with AC/DC, even if it's only a few shows at some point down the road before the inevitably and sad time comes when Angus decides that the time has come to hang up the uniform for good.

I don't know if Paddy Power are giving odds, but I'd be willing to bet that there will be a World tour with all of them, before they call it a day.

Apart from Malcolm of course. It was heartbreaking seeing some of those pics of earlier in the year.

Hope you're right. Be great to see them in concert again with Phil back doing what he does best.

Here's Angus talking about him back in '94 (I think).

    Arrested again apparently.

It says little of a man trying to overcome his problems and temptations if he's barely a week into his sentence and already he's getting into trouble again.

It looks like whatever chance he had of getting back into the band are pretty much gone now, what a f*cking eejit.

I'd say those Paddy Power odds have jumped... :/

    Pity.

    Ah dammit.

Word on the street (Daily Mail, not Huggy Bear) is that he threw a party which many prostitutes attended.
Lets hope he only consumed a few cans of Fosters. Hardly though. Damn fool.

Word on the street is that Chris Slade has taken to calling the Daily Mail the 'Job Security Gazette'.

Youse didn't really think he'd ever be let jeopardise a world tour?

Looks like the crime he's charged with was 'consuming alcohol' which is against his home arrest rules. Not the worst thing to have done I suppose but still pretty stupid.

Thought it was just drugs he was not supposed to consume, given that seems to be his main downfall. Sure one look at the man's face screams drug problems. It's Australia for heaven sake. Must be the country in the world highest on the table of beer consumption, or close to it. Can't see him staying away from alcohol.

It's New Zealand though. Not Australia. Although maybe the stereotype is applicable there too?

It's weird that a Judge (or anyone) has the authority to ban someone from something that's legal...
I know, it may lead to him causing other problems, or "It's for his own good" etc..

    Just seems.... wrong/weird.

He's under house arrest so is actually a prisoner. If he was in jail he wouldn't be able to drink (officially anyway, we've all seen Goodfellas!) so locked up at home shouldn't be any different. At least he stil had his home comforts as opposed to what he'd have in jail.

His meltdown after arriving home from court is yet more tabloid fodder. A cameraman pestering you would annoy anyone, but you just cannot rise to it. You never win that way, and I think it only builds toward a negative public perception of Rudd as a sketchy guy.

That's just grim to watch, hopefully he'll keep his head down and see out this sentence without doing anything else stupid, but it probably won't be long before he's in the news again, if he got back on track he would at least have a slim chance of re-joining the band at some point, but if he keeps acting the bollox, Angus would be a wise man to keep that door shut.

Latest Phil Rudd 'expose' coming from NZ's "3D" news programme. They spent a couple of days with him at his home and interviewed him.

I didn't like the comment about Chris Slade not knowing what he's doing up there.

Taking potshots at Slade will do little to up Rudd's chances of getting back on the stool. It just makes him look bitter. Also a bit iffy was when he goes about his drug problem that it can't be proved because he's never been tested, as if he believes there's still some ambiguity. It was already testified in his defense at a court hearing that his threat-to-kill was the result of a "Methamphetamine induced psychosis", so I don't know why he continues trying to hide anything. It's pretty much out in the open.

Supposedly now he's working on an autobiography. That'll be interesting. And he's still allowed to get escorts round. "The more the merrier" he's said, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

Looks like we might getting a live Dvd from the Wrigley Field show last week. Looking at a couple of the fan shot videos on Youtube, the crowd look quite lame.

Friend of mine saw AC/DC in the U.S. and Europe on the Black Ice tour and he said the crowds in Europe are far better, much more into it. I think there's a reason the most recent live DVDs from AC/DC and Maiden were shot in South America....

Comes across as a right asshole there and other stuff I've read about him.....good riddance to bad rubbish!

I don't see how he came across as an asshole there...

If I'm coming from a court appearance, where I see things aren't going in my favour, and there's a twat with a camera filming me unable to get into my house... That's just frustrating.

The classy thing to do is simply not to give the cameraman the time of day because that's exactly what he wants. He's not there to help Phil in any way, he's there to hopefully catch some newsworthy behaviour, and that's exactly what he got, and he got it at Phil's expense.

Does that make Phil an asshole? Not really, but it doesn't make him look like someone who can hold his temper either.

They're doing an arena tour in America in the new year, hopefully they'll come around here one more time next summer.

So how long till we get the Slane rumours?

Well they started about 5 mins after they finished the Aviva gig last summer, so you shouldn't be waiting too long.

kind of pointless doing an outdoor gig here again with the same setlist/set up etc unless there going to freshen it up a bit.

An indoor show would be cool
