The no side was right but we won't explain how. Noticed he mentioned the no side were late in starting and underfunded. RCC was neither of those things. Iona have been working for years agains treating gay people as equals.

I like the inverted commas around the words gay, out, equality and human rights

I know I should be annoyed by this kind of thing but I can't help feeling amused when reading articles whining about the outcome of the referendum, trying to act like something terrible has happened to the poor No people because they didn't get to deny rights to other people

It's classic c*ntservative condescension. Come to think of it, I can imagine a prolific pompous someone from t'udder forum.

Wasn't Twomey same knob that wrote the teaching course which required you to answer True to "Atheism resulted in 100m deaths under disguise of Marxism and Nazism" or some sort?

    ^ Yep that was him.

This article is further evidence that the man is quite simply deluded.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

I see the gay agenda is proceeding quite nicely.

Here's the gay pods being distributed throughout the country, ready to populate the place with gays.

And here's the official cover story.

I'm a very sad panda over that story. No utterance of the reverse vampires at all. Sure, isn't it all a plot to get rid of dinner!?!?!

Why are the No people still trying to get mileage out of this?

Why are the No people still trying to get mileage out of this?

Because they're afeared of a repeal the eighth vote and they need to keep the no to everything facade up.

The Australian bishops issue a shiny document stating their belief in "respect for all" which instructs the nation "Don't Mess With Marriage" and could have been written by the Ionanists.

That's odd, I thought bishops were supposed to hide their PDF files...

So they've decided to stick with the over 70's vote, XLNT (as the young people say), that should see the final end of FF over the next decade or so, any chance of Dev Óg making a successful bid for the leadership?

Whilst it's all to easy and tempting to dismiss Milonov as nutjob, the worrying thing is his words will garner support over there. Russia seems to be going through a collective hysteria regarding homosexuality. These are dangerous times, with dangerous individuals fanning the flames of hatred :(
Milonov has burst back onto the scene again. This time, he wants to ban Game of Thrones from Russia. Somewhat ironically, given Russia's vicious, hysterical coverage of its adventurism in Ukraine, Milonov concern that inappropriate information is "one of the most dangerous weapons in the destabilization of a nation" is a trifle misplaced.

    http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/russias-anti-gay-crusader-wants-to-outlaw-game-of-thrones/523608.html
Outspoken Russian politician Vitaly Milonov has called for the creation of a national media ideology that would single out as harmful content depicting behavior that does not conform to “traditional values” such as the hit U.S. television series “Game of Thrones,” Russian newspaper Izvestia reported on Monday.

Milonov, a deputy in St. Petersburg's Legislative Assembly and co-author of Russia's original anti-gay propaganda law, has submitted his proposal for the development of a “plan for the defense of the domestic information space” to the Ministry of Culture, Izvestia reported, citing a copy of the plan. Under the proposal, products deemed appropriate for mass consumption would be given a “mark of quality,” while anything deemed inappropriate would not.

According to Milonov, who is known in Russia for his conservative positions and heated statements against homosexuality, cult series “Game of Thrones” is an obvious contender for what would not qualify for the quality mark. The series, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's series of fantasy novels “A Song of Ice and Fire” about the struggle for power in a group of ancient kingdoms, features frequent violence in its plot, as well as rape, incest and Milonov's personal bete noire, homosexuality.

“Every tenth character in it is a sexual deviant,” Milonov was cited as saying by Izvestia. “It is precisely through this kind of content and its popularization that a new model is introduced in our conscience, leading people to believe that certain things and events are normal,” said the lawmaker, who admitted he had not watched a single episode of the series.

Milonov expressed concern over the negative role of television and the Internet — in the West in particular — in shaping the minds of young individuals, and described information as one of the most dangerous weapons in the destabilization of a nation, Izvestia reported.

The initiative has already received the support of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, the paper reported.

She's one of them. Back in 2002 she fully supported the anti-abortion ammendment that Bertie was trying to pass (incidentally that's the point when Loose Lips Creighton was pro-choice, which I was referring to about a year ago, she was very much against the referendum and for a loosening of abortion legislation back then). She was Mary Hanafin's special advisor for years before the party tried to parachute her into a series of safe seats, which her incomptence electorally meant she managed to lose all of, before Mickey Martin finally strongarmed enough FF councillors into voting her onto the Senate.

She's been a FF member and powerbroker at various levels for at least the last thirteen years, and she is deeply immersed and a representative member of the political culture of this country. She's no better than any of the rest of them.

His filter is always off on twitter. I really wish people like him would get called out more on what they tweet. There's a few of the usual suspects that get spots on media during debates on things like marriage equality and abortion who say the most offensive things on twitter that they'd never say during those debates. Time for people to have to stand over what they tweet.

He gets plenty of stick on the Twitter machine, some justified, some overly personal. Someone needs to troll the heck out of him with quotes from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Just what do you think you're doing, Dave?
    I'm sorry, Dave. I can't do that.

Hello, Im David Quinn, I take something and then completely twist it so I miss the point. You dont like me showing children porn? Should we close down the cinema because people dont like kids watching films?

I dont have enough cans of compressed air to create a woosh over my head big enough.

This could make for a brilliant thread but I'm terrified that if we start it we might end up getting boards sued. :pac:

Suspicious package of blue powder and ‘Goodbye’ note sent to office of gay rights group
A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE was delivered to the offices of LGBT advocacy group GLEN this morning, leading to an emergency operation at a building on Upper Exchange Street in Dublin’s city centre.

Emergency services were deployed to the scene with crew donning hazmat suits before entering the building.

It is understood the package was opened and blue powder was found inside, along with a one-word note which read ‘Goodbye’. It is thought the letter was personally delivered as there was no stamp.

The group indicated on Twitter that all of its workers are safe.

“The intent was to terrorise – no matter what was in the envelope,” Tiernan Brady of GLEN told TheJournal.ie.

“We’ve never had this before and the goal was to scare us and inflict terror.”

If we do end up in a genderless Europe, do we all have to sort of half-crouch while taking a leak?

Of look, a solicitors letter already arrived.
