    4620 was in Oklahoma
    Amtrak was in New Mexico
8666 was also in New Mexico

    The cooling systems are impressive.

Happened to be heading past Kent station today and noticed that the canopy that extends out over the entranceway is damaged to the point on one side it's having to be held up.

    Afternoon all,

Last weekend I was in London for the Hammersmith & City Line 150th Specials. This involved London Underground operating a special steam train service between Moorgate and Hammersmith using Steam Loco Met No. 1 and Electric Loco No. 12 "Sarah Siddons" in top and tail fashion and vintage carriages.

Other photos from the weekend include:
    - Aerial Photos of Dublin & London.
    - Docklands Light Railway in East London.
    - Various London Underground locations.
    - South West Trains, First Great Western & even Virgin Voyagers well off the beaten track at Ealing Broadway.

All the photos from the weekend may be accessed by clicking this link: http://www.thewandererphotos.com/International/2014

    Enjoy!

Nice pictures, nice engines - It's hard to believe there was such a shortage of soap & water in those days. Can't believe the filth of them.

A couple of weeks ago saw me with a chance to visit the Fintown Railway. They currently run ex CDR railbus, 18. While it is hauled out by a diesel shunter, it's Gardner 6L2 engine still fires up and brings the set home.

    Fintown
why is she hauled out rather then driven out?

ticking a box on a form does not make you of a religion.

why is she hauled out rather then driven out?

The CDR railcars were literally converted road buses and were only build with one cab. When in service they were turned at terminal stations but the Fintown railways don't have such a facilities to hand so a small locomotive is required to haul her out. It also has the advantage of being able to rescue the railcar should she fail in traffic.

"The CDR railcars were literally converted road buses and were only build with one cab".
this is incorrect. The GNR- part owner of the CDR put rail wheels on buses and called them railbuses- one is in Cultra

the CDR vehicles were designed as rail vehicles

The CDR units were built by Walkers, a bus building firm and it was a bus cab, chassis and body which they used for the CDR orders. While they were intended and sold as rail vehicles, they were merely buses which were adapted and tinkered for rail use. The GNR rail buses were literally just as you said, buses with railway wheels.

    Evening all,

22014, which has been stored out of service since November 2012 made a trial run from Laois Depot to Portarlington in the afternoon. It was pictured at Ballykillane, along with some of the evening peak services from Heuston.

total nonsense, I've never seen an articulated bus of this configuration.
