So, here I am, on the toilet, with the bathroom door open, watching the Telly and keeping an eye on the spuds. I'm living the dream.

Any other advantages to living alone you can think of?

Having people over whenever you want and not having to check with other people in the house if they have plans.

Open a window or that dream will linger with you while you're eating.

The only advantange I can think of would be the guaranteed lack of interuption when you are so severely hungover that human contact is impossible.

The silence. I miss the silence. God I can't wait to live alone again. This is one of the reasons I have no intention of ever getting married or having kids.

Letting rip and not having to worry about offending someone

Also, not having to clean up after other people's mess. Some people don't have a clue and think a house/apartment never has to be vacuumed or dusted and get offended if you suggest otherwise.

Everything. I doubt I'll ever live with someone again, I love living alone too much.

(the one and only downside, is when you lose your phone you can't ask someone else to ring it)

(okay, two downsides, folding sheets and duvet covers on your own is tricky)

    Air drying after a shower.
Going to the toilet with the door open.
Walking to the toilet naked during the night.
    Leaving stuff lying around.
Masturbating in the sitting room watching babestation.

Not having to answer to anyone, ANYONE!
When you leave something down, when you come back it is exactly the same place you left it (when people move things without reason it does my fúcking tits in)
Having women round and making as much noise as you want
    Smoking in the bath
Smoking in the house in general, no one to disapprove
    Walking around naked
Watching what you want and listening to what you want
You only have people round you want to be there

i miss living on my own!

You kidding? I loved living alone, you actually make way more time to invite people over and have parties and gatherings at yours when there's nobody else involved. Knowing you leave in the morning for work and the house is in the exact same state you left it is brilliant. Not having to worry about making noise or interrupting others if they want alone time or vice versa, its great.

I went on holidays last August, my suitcase is still in the sitting room.

If I lived with someone, they'd have nagged me into actually doing something with it.

I also have eggs that are a year out of date in my fridge. That also wouldnt be allowed.

Plus you could dress like Freddy Mercury and sing 'I want to break free' without judgement!

I've strategically placed the cooker in a position in the kitchen where I can see it from the bathroom, same with the TV in the lounge.

Another advantage of living alone, you can put your furnishings wherever you goddamn want.:)

    I lived alone for 5 weeks once and it was total bliss. Friends over a few times a week, and the rest all to myself. I'll be living alone in a foreign country later this year (for 1 year), so that may be a lonelier experience, we'll see. My favourite things;

I bring my work home often, I like to work alone, but I don't like to work in my bedroom.

I keep irregular sleeping hours, good to have nobody waking me up, and also I don't have to worry about waking others up.

Just being able to leave my bedroom and know I can chill out on my own, without feeling socially obligated to chat to my housemates' friends while I'm trying to watch a movie/sporting event.

Nobody filling the freezer with food they have no apparent intention of eating.

No housemates milling around if I bring a date home.

The two single greatest things about living alone are:

*Full possession of the remote control.

    *Full possession of the duvet.

Honourable mention to the loo seat being always down.

    - Can keep the same underwear for days.
    - Post on Boards.
    - Scratch nose then eat it.
    - Sit on the toilets with the bathroom door opened and feel the cool breeze everywhere.

That's what the landline (that you got for DSL) is for.

    Benefits-- My House- My Rules!!!

Downside- sometimes you would want company

I've lived alone for years. I've found that what appeals to me most is the peace I have when I close my front door. Generally no on interupts me unless I choose to let them.
