Barry, those vanettes and the like ARE pure scrap, even when they were new......0 to 60 in a fortnight, unreliable spanish built nissan muck.....half shaft oil seals leaking galore........yes, SCRAP ..........and as for the DOE......lol.......a valid DOE can be bought......a DOE cert can be as bent as a 6 euro note..........lol........

and to be honest, that volvo you posted, is end of life scrap too......

on a lighter note, the engine cover on that 156 looks errrrmmmmmmmmm, RUFF !! lol

TBH, everything you've said about the Nissan is probably true! :D

How did you come to the conclusion that the Volvo is scrap though?

A car for the posers out there :p

To me, 8.8 seconds to 62mph doesn't seem slow!

How do define slow? 220 km/h top speed and below 8s 0-100 km/h - is that "horribly slow".

Cheap yoke to potter around in. Would offering 500 quid be too cheeky!

tbh, I think the price reflects the mileage.

It looks like it, very spartan inside. A cheap no frills runabout for a few months?

One dent makes it end of life rubbish? I don't think so but sure everybody has different opinions.

    Also, embarrassment? How so?

Not sure what you're expecting for €600-750, this is bangernomics, it's got an NCT and should last a year.

I rang the seller there, asked about the full service history, as outlined........and low and behold......it don't exist
no t/belt change neither of late...
so, it needs a belt, its got no history and got 160k on it,.......not worth it to be fair..... just because its got an nct means little at times......:p

Would you really believe a FSH on a €800 car???

As for belts, at that price I'd be suspicious too.

Doesn't the tippex on the engine cover say the belt was done 100000 odd miles ago?

Too soft tbh, gotta be a honda for a track car

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,869 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Not tunable enough for a track car. The 1.8T above would be a better option, although its still a bit soft for a track. A "slower" Honda would make a better track car.
