So why is she on a dating site?

No idea but she just disabled her profile because there was a guy on the site she previously dated and told him she didn't want a relationship, so for him not to see her profile she disabled it !!! I'm really confused.

I don't know why you would string a guy a long on a dating site to be "just friends"

To me its just a cop out or easy way of saying i dont fancy you. Or could be seeing how it goes and then waiting for something better to come along or meeting up with several people.

But sure he only injured it the night before? Could've been out drinking, and only injured it after he'd been talking to her. Because he rang her after, I'd be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt here. :)

You are more forgiving than I am so. She texted him at 10pm the night and he didn't mention it. She posted up here shortly after receiving the text from him around 5pm on the date night if he hurt his ankle the night before I would still expect someone to tell me before 5pm for some consideration. At 5pm you are finishing your day and might have been getting excited about the date all night so to only be told at the last minute he is cancelling when he hurt it the night before still smacks of inconsideration to me.

But maybe I am just getting bitter and cranky in my old age. :pac:

dont feel sorry for yourself, its not healthy..instead look at the things your doing wrong potentially, choice of pictures, is your profile interesting enough, are you trying too hard to impress someone with it or your messages?
theirs always room for improvement, if somethings not working, nothing to lose by changing it up a bit...
    hope this helps :)
Im not feeling sorry for myself, I just know when something doesnt work, and Im not one for flogging a dead horse.

Is there a way of checking out people with your profession (teacher in my case)?

Also has there been any cases of 2 boards.ie members "getting it together"??

There's been many cases of boardsies hooking up. But just be wary that it is somewhat frowned upon (when done in "open" - I say open, as opposed to the private forums) as boards isn't a dating site.

Date for tomorrow confirmed. Looking forward to that.

That went well. Had a few drinks in the sun. Haven't gotten any word back from her after I texted her on the way home saying it would be nice to do something like that again. Will probablyend up adding this to the list of 'enjoyable first dates that did not lead to a second'. Was still a fun though. Not like I had any other plans (audition notwithstanding).

How do you get onto the private forums.......women are messing with my head on POF at the minute! Meeting up a few times and then NOTHING!!

I do get where you're coming from, but if I liked the guy, I'd probably give him a second chance!

I think it depends on the approach you take. If you see OD as the primary way to meet people you are going to be consumed by over analysing of non responses and profile visits.

Better to live your life as normal and drop in occasionally on your page. Its should supplement your social life not become the focal point.

I approached it this way in the past but since then have lightened up. Only pop on once every few days have a gander around send a mail or two if I come across someone I like but expect a non response (due to fact I would say IMO there is about 1 in five chance of a response). These days If I get converstation out of it or even a date its a bonus but my life doesnt stop because of it.

The more involved in it you become the more it dents your confidence so why let yourself get into that situation

At the same time though what harm is it leaving it up even if you dont check that often. Only takes one random matchup on them sites to find someone worth finding (better chances than the lotto without any work:D)

Depends on the private forum. Some you have to PM the mod of and others you have to be invited to.

You're not going to be let into a private forum just to access female boardsies.

POF messes with most peoples head (Have you read this thread?!).

Maybe take a break from the online dating for a while. It does get to most people after a while.

Just wondering would it be easier to meet people off this then get chatting on POF?

    Male, 25, Louth

    Deal breaker tbh. :pac:

    Hi there,

Hope you don't mind if I join in here. Have really enjoyed reading some of the posts. Am so glad that it's not just me who finds the whole online thing a minefield!

Thought I had hit the jackpot when first guy seemed great. We emailed everyday for a week and then arranged phone call which never happened and zero contact since. The going suddenly cold thing is a pain but guess to be expected!

One thing about internet can disguise poor social skills easily. Was in touch with this guy who seemed well rounded, lots of interests etc but when we met he was as dull as dish water, with nothing to say for himself! Heart sank, zero social skills.

All in all a mixed bag. Keep expectations low!

No no no, girls look at your profile when they're interested in the hope that you mail them back. Boys send 17 messages when interested in a girl. That's how it works!

More like, "Hello potentially cute thumbnail girl.. let's have a looksie... ah no!"
Like when someone you went out with before changes their profiler and you don't realise it's them and then you look all stalkery >_<

Yeah I must look like a total stalker as whenever bored in meetings in work or work in general I sit back and look at profiles on my phone for a bit of a browse, so many people change their photos regularly enough that I don't realise I have already seen their profile before I open it up. I must have checked out some profiles a couple of times a week by accident. :o

Rather entertaining date last night with someone I didn't have high hopes for but turned out to be both better-looking and nicer than he'd seemed online. It was only a quick drink as he had to be somewhere else after but there was lots of flirting and a bit of a kiss from him at the end- admittedly very soon but pulled off in such a light-hearted and cheeky way it made me laugh:D No firm plans to meet again but I'm sure we will be...

Got rather excited yesterday at having 2 new messages- checked them and one is from a guy I ill-advisedly kissed at a party 3 years ago (and still shudder at the thought of) and the other was from the guy my friend is currently dating:rolleyes: Gah.

Ah why do people use sites like that if they're in a relationship  Cheaters disgust me.... I'd be happy out with one gorgeous, rich, funny, charming heir to the throne... simple tastes :o

I came across my best friend's boyfriend on the site before, I'd only met him twice at this stage so he didn't recognise me and mailed me. I rang my friend so fast!!!

I've a picture of me with 3 other mates and rarely get many replies, do people generally reply to users who have a picture of just themselves more?
