I love the newspaper and TV ads where Tesco are saying that they WILL NOT pass on the vat increase to people.

But isnt it amazing how an awfull lot of their products and prices have suddenly jumped up by 4 or 5 cents each in the last 2 weeks or so.

Tescos "Finest" strawberry yogurt has jumped up from 69 cents to 89 cents,in Clearwater,Clarehall and Artane.Tescos pizzas have jumped up by 20 cents too.

Basicly they are conning and duping people with their false advertizing.:mad:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,151 ✭✭✭Irishchick

I have actually noticed that too. Although I thought that there is no VAT on the majority of food????

Dont get me wrong,Tesco are ok and quite good for some leccy bargains and seasonal bargains.Ive got a few bargains from Tesco over the last few months.

But the cost of an average weekly household shop is creeping up over the last month or so with this Tesco Crowd.

Im seriously thinking of changing over to Dunnes Stores or Lidl/Aldi.

You should be spreading your dough across all the retail outlets depending on their offers.

That all sounds great when doing the shopping, but then add in the actual time spent to go from place to place, then the diesel/petrol usage and then having to keep the kids happy when dragging them around the places.

Guess they didnt look too hard :D.

Just back from Tesco Ashbourne. Picked up 2 of the Sony docks priced at €59.99 but scanned at €13.99. They had 3 on the shelf so I left one there if anyone is looking for one. They are not in the usual electrical section.

If you ar familiar with Asbhourne branch they are on the special offers shelf. Head to the electrial corner and swing a left so you are then heading towards the clothing section. Special offers shelf located about 5 meters when you take the left.

    Hi

How did people get all these bargains in Tesco? Are they advertised or online or what?

Or just reduced in store at random with stickers/labels

Can you scan things yourself in Tesco?

a lot of time its people being savvy, sometimes with tescos if the price is not advertised there is a reason behind it, so when the good people of this forum see it they post it here, also some check out hduk as well, sometimes not always however they can be scanning wrong in tescos in the uk.

Just keep your eye out and keep checking back here regularly.

I saw the sign for the 7c bars of fudge but couldn't see any:( That is a very good price for the pyrex dishes. Will not be heading to any Tesco til after Christmas though!

I went to Stillorgan yesterday to look for one, but there was none unfortunately :(

I was in Clearwater yesterday and ther was very little reduced. Some clothes were half price but seemed to be all the stuff that was half price before Christmas. Usually pick up reduced Christmas crackers after Christmas but they were not selling for much less than normal. Sweet section seemed to be the same prices as pre Christmas too. A bit disappointed really :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 584 ✭✭✭et101

Only looking for crackers cos Tesco usually have great reductions on the luxury ones after Christmas and I usually pick up a few boxes for presents for next year (good for neighbours etc!!), Thanks for the tip with Penneys though will look tomorrow ;)

Every year there used to be 2 pallets atleast of these in store and I always got them for 1/2 price or less before x-mas but this year, there was way less and they were sold out near me before Christmas. My mum got the ones from Aldi, they were lovely, especially the little set of scew drivers she got me to fix her laptop with!

If it's the same item, its the same price in every ROI Tesco, one of those stores didnt have the correct price displayed. My money is on the old Naas store!

They usually have them reduced after Christmas but no joy this year. I don't think the Tesco Christmas stock has been greatly reduced this year at all. Most of the stuff was discounted before Christmas and no extra discounts after Christmas. Ah well have no money left anyway!!! Now where did I put that Visa bill

    Tesco Ballybrack, South County Dublin.

Logitech Wireless Mouse M180 is scanning at €7.

No idea if this is a Tesco bargain, or unique to the store.

Perfectly acceptable mouse. Very predictable performance and Logitech build. The only downside is that there's no stash area for the Nano dongle.

Delighted they're no longer using AAA batteries. Nice to have just 1 single AA in it.

There's a proper on\off slider switch with a nice incisive clicky feel, on the underside of the mouse. There's also a 'pairing' button, if needed.

    tescologitechm180.jpg

    I was mulling buying a mouse too. A bargain I actually wanted\needed. ;)

I was about to buy a Microsoft mouse with exactly the same features, it was €14 or €15, I scanned the Logitech out of curiosity..

EDIT: #1 Derp.. The Nano dongle goes inside the mouse, which is.. odd, but there you go, there *is* a place to stash the receiver.

EDIT: #2 The battery comes with the mouse.

Last year I bought a few of these and used them for my kitten to house train. Much cheaper than a kitty litter tray.
