Significant service improvements for Ballycullen, Knocklyon & Ballyboden from Sunday 30th September
Route 15
Dublin Bus is pleased to announce that departures on Route 15 will be doubled from Sunday 30th September offering a 10 minute frequency at peak times and enhanced Saturday and Sunday services.
Route 15b
The terminus of Route 15b will be moved from Ballyroan to Whitechurch while the service will more than double from 23 to 57 departures on weekdays. From Sunday 30th September Route 15b will operate via Taylors Lane, Ballyboden Rd., Ballyroan Rd., Templeogue Rd., Terenure, Rathmines, St. Stephen’s Green and Eden Quay.
(Note by KC61: The increased number of departures refers to those ex-Whitechurch and not the whole 15B service. There are currently 23 inbound 15C services and 54 inbound 15B services each weekday. Therefore in the new timetable there are 3 extra 15B departures. However, Whitechurch Estate will see a huge increase in services from 23 per day to 57. Also the correct 15B routing should reflect Marian Road and Butterfield Avenue between Ballyroan Road and Templeogue Bridge)
Route 15n
The 15n Nitelink will be extended to serve Ellensborough, departing College St. every Friday and Saturday night from 00:30 am every 30 minutes until 04.30. These changes will place from the Friday 28th September.
Routes 74 and 74a
From Sunday 30th September these routes will now have a significantly improved timetable, improved frequency and a 7 day service. Services will also be extended in the City Centre to serve Macken St. in the South Docklands and will no longer serve Eden Quay.
Route 49/a
Route 49/a will no longer serve the section of Ballycullen Rd. between Ballycullen Drive and Woodstown/Greenfield Park. Ballycullen Rd. customers wishing to access these routes to Tallaght may use the stops on Ballycullen Drive.
Route 15c
This route will no longer operate, alternative services include
Route 15b and Route 74a.
All buses on Routes 74, 74a and 49/a will be low floor wheelchair accessible buses.
Please note all timetables will be updated on Friday 28th September 2007
Further note by KC61 - I would expect a revised 15A timetable also as these buses are integrated with the 15/15B/15C.0 -

http://www.dublinbus.ie/news_centre/press_releases.asp?action=view&news_id=706More Buses on Weekend 270 Service
Dublin Bus has announced new improvements to Route 270 to Dunboyne and is increasing its services in the Dunboyne area with additional frequency at weekends.
From October 7th, both the Saturday morning inbound service from Dunboyne to the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre and the outbound service to Dunboyne will have two extra departures each.
On Sunday mornings, the inbound service has been upgraded with a starting time that that is nearly three and hour hours earlier than the previous starting time of 12.30hrs. Sunday services to Dunboyne from The Centre have been revised also. The additional buses on the service are due in part to The Government’s Transport 21 investment programme.
Speaking on the decision to allocate more buses to the 270 schedule, Clíodhna Ní Fhátharta, Media and Communications Manager for Dublin Bus, outlined the reasoning behind the additional services. “In recent years the town of Dunboyne has experienced significant population growth and coupled with the rise in Sunday trading, Dublin Bus felt that it was time to increase the weekend service on the 270. By using the 270, shoppers can avoid the stress associated with finding parking, which is only set to increase as the Christmas shopping season begins,” she added.
The enhanced schedule includes the following changes:
Saturday Inbound Service- additional departures at: 07.30 hrs and 08.50hrs
Saturday Outbound Service– additional departures at: 08.10hrs and 09.20hrs
Sunday Inbound Service- additional departures at: 09.30 hrs, 10.30hrs, 11.30hrs, and 12.30hrs
Sunday Outbound Service– additional departures at: 10.00hrs, 11.00hrs, and 12.00hrs
Customers will be informed about the changes to the 270 service through advertising in both national and local newspapers. Along with advertising, information on the route 270 can be found on the Dublin Bus website (www.dublinbus.ie) , or by calling our customer service desk [(01) 8734222 (08.30 -18.00 hrs, Mon –Sat].0 -
