Yep, one person plays as Isaac and one as a helper.

It's dark enough to be honest. Strong religious themes and poor parenting.
Lots of cartoon blood, disgusting creatures and poop. :)

Watch this video (showing the intro) and see what you think. Also look up YouTube for some "Lets Play" videos.

Personally, I don't think it's suitable for that age group.

There's also the fact that the discussion between you two involved considerably more thought than what went into implementing multiplayer in Isaac. I've heard some people find the co-op useful for the game's harder parts, but considering you can't get an extra-player in for Keeper and Lost runs (cause they've either got little health or flat-out none. Though Keeper can get more health in Afterbirth+), it's of limited use in that regard.

I was looking at the multiplayer for the fan-created Isaac: Antibirth, and it's actually a co-op that you'd pay for if it was officially supported.

It's likely just a continuation of the sale from last week. The Nindies sale runs until 6th April. Hopefully some more get added though.

Anybody considering getting Has Been Heroes?
A lot of the reviews are saying it's too hard, although a few players are saying it's good here : https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/204219-has-been-heroes
I wouldn't mind giving it a go and I think it's already on the US eshop

Edit : some interesting comments here also : https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/626k83/has_been_heroes_tipsjust_trying_to_help/

    Nintendo eShop (3DS)

Go! Go! Kokopolo 3D (CIRCLE Ent.) - €5.99

    Oh thanks Sligeach!

Go Go Kokopolo was a DSiWare game I wanted to spend my spare Nintendo points on because it looked cool, and reminded me of old-style Commodore 64 maze games; BUT by the time it came to my attention, it had been delisted, because eventually the game was making less money than it cost to keep a Uk branch of the Publisher open, and it had to be delisted once they closed down shop. I'm interested to finally check out the sequel.

Speaking of DSiWare btw: Today is the last day the DSiWare shop and associated services will be up and running, so if like me you had some unspent points or old games sitting on an old DSi, today's the day you should move them over to your 3DS if you want to keep your purchases consolidated on one device.

It's really annoying though that savefiles don't transfer, AND DSiWare game storage is capped at 600 blocks on 3DS, despite the fact I have like 115,000 blocks free, so I have to delete/redownload or transfer between SD cards (it won't play games on an SD card, only store them) as you want to play them.

    Awful and baffling setup.

Since I had $10 left on my US eshop account I decided to get another 10 on play Asia and I went for Has Been Heroes.
I've only got a chance to play it for half an hour or so yet, but I'm liking it so far.
It's gets difficult pretty quickly but I'm still not used to the control scheme and the flow of the game yet.
That being said, I'm liking what I've seen so far...

I have a fiver left from Isaac so I might get another $15 and get HBH. Some comments from the devs (from Steam forums):
Reviews - we will be addressing some concerns over the next few weeks. The release state may have been too difficult as reviews complain about that a lot, and they may be right. We adjusted the difficulty a bit with a Day 1 patch (should be live now on all platforms, not 100% sure about Switch though), and have another patch incoming with further changes. The game will remain difficult but we do not want it to be unfair. I was at PAX East presenting the game to media and gamers and I had tons of fun playing the full game (not available to the public but they were welcome to watch), albeit an earlier version. Me, Kai and Matt were just able to beat the fifth boss, the Toxic boss, in our 25 hours of play. I myself am a rather casual gamer and definitely not a roguelike gamer, so it should be possible to find a balance between hardcore roguelike audience and a more casual crowd like myself and probably most of the reviewers... The core gameplay and all the gameplay mechanics are solid if you ask me, so once we get the balance perfected the game should be super fun!

The repetitiveness in enemies and overall is possibly a by-product of the difficulty and players not able to progress enough, as the game features over 200 enemies and even if skeletons are the mainstay, they've never felt repetitive to me (there's lots of variation). There's plenty of other kind of enemies too but they only start appearing as you progress further in the game.

We are super interested in seeing how the user feedback turns out, and will be addressing issues as we get past the launch day... If you're on the fence, I suggest waiting out a bit and see how the "Recent reviews" develops on Steam. :)

    - Joel, Frozenbyte team, developers of Has-Been Heroes

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,458 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Nope, in the end, I didn't. I watched a lot of it on YouTube and I think that put me off in the end. It would have been a game I played 3 or 4 times, max.

Yeah, I'm the same. It looks okay, but I can't see myself sticking with it. I'd rather keep the money for Mario Kart. As things stand, I'd just be getting it for the sake of having another game on the thing, and I'm only about half way through the second part of Shovel Knight, so I still have that to work with. (FYI, well worth getting, challenging, fun game)

Confession to make : I've never played shovel knight. And I'm a big retro gamer (even have a MAME cab I built myself). I reckon that the treasure trove will be my next purchase.
That being said, I'm enjoying HBH when I do get a chance to play it

Was hoping for Shakedown: Hawaii :(

Still, have my Neon JoyCons and SnipperClips arriving tomorrow so it's not all doom and gloom.

This weeks PR has been updated. A lot of Fire Emblem discounts. There's 30% off Fire Emblem games and DLC. Some rubbish game discounts have also been added. Today is the last day to get the good games currently being discounted for the past couple of weeks.
