    The Cape Colony in South Africa was founded, in 1651, by a Dutch administrator named Jan van Riebeeck. A pretty important person in the history of the country, so they naturally put his picture on the money:

    SOS didn't mean "Save Our Souls" as it originated with the German navy and apparently came about because it's the easiest/most clear signal when using morse code.

    Binary digits 1 and 0 represent a state and/or voltage. Normally 3.3 volts and above(up to 5) is a 1 and below it is a 0.

    We can represent different patterns by sending different voltages in sequence different points. You can also represent 16 numbers with 4 'bits'.

    Blue tits are lactose intolerant, despite learning to peck the foil lids open on milk bottles, back in the days of glass milk bottle delivery. What they actually want to get at is the cream, which is free of lactose and high in fat. Smart. ;)
