I don't believe this is why he didn't do the media obligations though, he'd have known he lost the psychological warfare aspect of this fight right after he lost their first bout, so it's hardly something he just remembered at the last minute. It'll be interesting to say the least, how he handles the presser for their rematch, whenever that may be (if at all).

Myrddin wrote: » I agree with this. It's possible he let his emotions dictate his desire for a rematch, and later on, possibly after words from others, he could have accepted this is a significantly tougher task that he originally felt. Looking at how RDA demolished Nate, what was needed to do that are things you never see Conor doing. His current skillset, and a very good one it is, is not something that can be used to defeat Nate.

Useful.Idiot wrote: » His skillset could be used to defeat Nate IMO. I think Nate's skillset is a bit more limited. Good solid straightforward boxing and lethal bjj but not much else. If Conor's concentrating on improving his cardio, which he seems to be, then he could win on decision if he conserves his tank throughout 5 rounds. He's the more technical and better moving striker. I think his ground game is sufficient enough to defend and get back to the feet again, if his energy is up. I think people really understate Conor's ground game as we haven't really seen much of it. Getting a sweep like that on a bjj black belt is no small feat. Even if he took a few hits he still wasn't in any trouble.
Bam Bam Mickey wrote: » Round 2, McGregor tried to take it to a ground game after being rocked on his feet twice by two huge hits, and he lost the ground game very quickly after that, being pummelled in the face, rolling over to avoid it then being choked out! Your summary of his skill set shows blind faith after the evidence suggested otherwise.

Like, what's the big deal about him flying over to Vegas? Conor could have hit mitts on the plane on the way over, like totally? Ummm, I just don't get why it was a big deal n' stuff?". CatFromHue wrote: » Well she had arranged to get her promo work and her training in on the same day so for her doing promo's and training on the same day isn't a problem......except if she has to do someone else's promo's cos they don't want to.

Mellor wrote: » There was a lot more to it than that. you could write a whole article on the closing seconds from the takedown attempt to the finish. He whole, he was manhandled, therefore he has no skill on the ground is completely flawed. Elite blackbelts ave been taken down and instantly subbed, doesn't mean that are shit, it means they got caught. The tiniest of movement can change the whole outcome of a grapplng sequence.

If I remember correctly, McGregor started out the last fight with a few that were effective but then switched to the big left and the upper cut.
