This week is very interesting in the golf betting as there is a choice between 2 very different events with the byron nelson in america and the volvo matchplay in bulgria.
from looking at the odds,form,course history and other things i think players to watch in the us are:
matt kuchar 16/1
marc leishman 20/1
ryuji imada 200/1
ryan palmer 22/1 (nap)
palmer is flying at the moment and has a great record in this event.
in the matchplay:
henrik stenson 15/2
fdez castano 18/1
mcdowell 8/1 (nap)
aphibarnrat 40/1
while stenson is in great form he hasn't played alot of matchplay over the last few years but still worth a shout.mcdowell had a poor week last week but is proven in matchplay and would expect a strong showing.aphibarnrat seems to be always in contention and is playing well recently and looks a good price.

DJ because he should be there or thereabouts. Day and Rose as both have been threatening a major all year, and Matsuyama as I've been following him all year and he needs to start making me some moola!

If I back someone, I think it'll be a punt on Matsuyama. 40's on Betfair. Decent 2nd outing last year and some recent form. I think he'll get a green jacket in the next few years.

Cabrera has only missed the cut once in the last 10 years, he loves the place.

Cheers, I'd normally be all over Cabrera but his form coming into the tournament is woeful.

That's what Gman is saying... just highlighting that the odds for a place are 1/5 and not the usual 1/4.

That Skybet offer of 8 places at 1/4 is very good.

Yeah I found it a great offer. It's not like the odds have been reduced to counteract it either. Some a little higher, some lower but on average the same.

While I'm on it, my picks for a bit of value ruling out the shorter odds:

Mickleson (he'd be a solid place I think)
Stenson
Louis
Zach

All with experience around the course and a reasonable price.

Should be great viewing whichever way it goes.

A few of those were as a amateur id say. What's his world ranking? Top 30??
An improving player and will see him on a major leaderboard soon enough id guess, probably not Augusta this week though.
