Very valid point, and yes of course Aguero comes into it. But look at this:

1st three matches:

Jerome Norwich plays Palace (h), Sunderland (a), Stoke (h)

Wilson Bournemouth plays Villa (h), Pool (a), West Ham (a)

Kane Spurs plays Utd (a) Stoke (h), Leicester (a)

Sakho West Ham plays Arsenal (a), Leicester (h), Bournemouth (h)

I don't like the feel of Benteke and Liverpool at the moment. He relies on crosses and I really do not see who will cross the ball to him.

Deeney Watford has very hard opening fixtures.

Lukako Everton, have an easy opening match but then again, Everton are renowned for starting slow.

Anyone else worth mentioning?

Did you see the cross into benteke at the weekend?

I don't believe he is the big lump of a target man that only relies on headers. He has great strength and ability plus speed to make goals.

Right firstly I know I've not been contributing that much to this thread, not had time to properly review teams and they are coming thick and fast. If CSF was getting a euro for every bit of good advice he'd be a rich man. Fair play.

Anyhow, finally getting back to a proper look at my own team with a couple of weeks info and scenarios running round in my head.

Few changes from where I was at.

With the uncertainty around Pullisball keepers, and not so keen on the Ruddy/Rudd cheapo option (partly as a great Norwich Liverpool rotation can be done now for 9.0 with Gomez) I'm thinking the next best thing if putting another 0.5 into keepers is Southampton till first wildcard.

Finally dropped Shaw as Bellerin is logically a better pick for the first few weeks, again till wildcard. The other three starters (Gomez a slight risk probably) rotate well to give good fixtures. Targett for as long as he plays covers some of the gaps.

No Hazard, using the money for a heavy duty front three. Payet my punt, great preseason form and early fixtures, can reconsider after GW3.

If Benteke looks dodgy for GW1 then it could be back to the old Lukaku 1 week punt. Benteke GW2 Captain is looking lovely though so may just risk his GW1 minutes and save the transfer.

Ageuro = Sterling to Milner & Roo to Aguero OR Sterling to 6.0 and Kane to Aguero.

I have 0.5 in bank for GW1 which I like to have for flexibility.

Last year I was in the top 5000 up to Christmas (3 months abroad in from GW 18 ruined any run I was on).

I am considering putting in Cedric (Shampton) instead of Shaw = bank 0.5m
But SHT are in UEFA this year and as an Everton fan I saw last year what happens when 'small' clubs are dragged around Europe mid week.

I am considering swapping Walcott with Ozil. = bank 0.5m but I've also read a good article on Wegner palying him as his #10 this year.

Up front I'd like to make room for Rooney - not easy without taking out Lakaku (who I'm considering putting Benteke in for).

My team has no Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard - Considering GW #4 wildcard to get them in? Risky due to price rises.

Very strong team. I do feel you're taking a risk having neither Costa or Hazard though. If Chelsea hit Swansea for a few on the first day, Fabregas may not be able to soften the blow.

As an Everton Fan. The first 10 Everton games include 7 of the top 10 teams from last year. Practically no movement in the transfer window - I'm nervous for the year ahead!

Quite a few changes from my last draft. I've went from a long-term plan to basically setting up a team for the first 6 games.

Bassong comes into defence given their nice opening fixtures.

Have joined the Depay boat. I think he'll get more points than Mata and more than likely get more gametime.

Carzola comes in for Ramsey. On corners, pens and frees so I'm going to take my chances with him rather than Ramsey. I understand he plays deeper now but I think I'll keep him for now. Also never had him in my team before and hated missing out on his points.

My first "risk" was Defoe, who I will keep. Wickham's departure hopefully means guaranteed starter. My second "risk" is now Ritchie. Great stats from last 2 years and I like their opening fixtures.

Kane comes in for Costa due to his injury concerns. I fancy him to score against United in opening game, United's defence is dodge, even more so now given that Blind is centre back and De Gea's uncertain future might affect their defence even further.

Comments, advice still greatly welcomed

Solid team, two Man City mids would worry me, there's a lot of good mids out there. Not sure Ox will get much gametime either.

Both GK's have questionmarks IMO. Spurs were awful at the back last season, I wouldn't be going for a Spurs defender. Rest looks decent apart from no City attackers. Defoe wouldn't be for me either

Rotating keepers. Done the analysis, my favorite combo.

Hopefully Clichy fecks off leaving 3 solid defenders. Gomez on the bench if he manages to hold his spot.

3 mids at new clubs is a concern, as is no Hazard.

3 strikers that are proven FF players, hopefully 2 of them start off well at least.

Hey guys, wasn't on here as much in the second half of last season, FF and the stress that went with it is seeing me more as a casual player now but I am in a work league and will try post here a bit more frequently again, any thoughts on this team would be appreciated as It's just my first draft today.

(I will most likely switch costa to lukaku for the weekend as I decide on him and aguero) I just want to keep the money there thouh so I can get costa in straight away or try move around 2 mil to get aguero once he's fully fit and city's early tough fixtures pass.

edit: yes I know barry is a crap FF player, was just looking for any 4.5 mil player, he can def be changed, as can coloccini, the keepers, lovren and 1 or 2 others. wouldn't mind having Walcott but couldn't fit him in without sacrificing a striker.

Bang on the money, that's my big concern. If Costa is confirmed fit I may try to find 1m to get him in there fore Kane. Dunno where though!

I think Monk will be well prepared for Chelsea after last season mind you, he's a good manager and I'm starting to doubt that they'll be torn apart again.

No, haven't picked my Captain yet, probably Rooney. GW1 captain options is another risk with that team.

Re the defence I think Steklenberg is a decent 1 keeper strategy option. I could spend my 0.5 and go for Courtois but I hate have no funds for emergency changes GW2.

The Norwich/Liverpool/Bournemouth rotations gives the fixtures below playing 2 every week...

May change change Francis for a Sunderland 4.5 defender, but that's what I'm looking at right now. Big fan of Mahrez, and would like to have options to rotate between him and Sakho the first few weeks. I also see myself using the Balls Deep 2-5-3 chip in the first few weeks.

Had another go at this:

GK/Defence:

Doubling up on Arsenal defence here with Cech/Bellerin. Not many teams start off well with clean sheets but Arsenal have looked solid here in pre-season and in the Community Shield.

Partnering these is Shaw. LVG prides himself on being defensively sound and with Utd's cozy opening fixtures Shaw looks the most nailed on guarantee to start.

Partnering these on day 1 is Bassong. Rotates with Sunderland & Palace and have gone with PVA and Mariappa for future weeks. Spent the extra 0.5m on PVA because over the coming weeks I can see him contributing more attacking returns than other Sunderland defenders and is also a hound for bps. Strongly considering using him as a guaranteed starter of my XI for the first 6 weeks and investing the £0.5 from Bassong elsewhere.

Midfield / Forwards:

I have gone for the one from each of the top 6 approach here:

Midfield: Henderson Mata Silva Ozil

Strikers: Kane Costa

All big players, reliable starters from the top teams and proven FF form.

My additional attacking spot is between Sinclair and Sakho. Two punts but expecting good things from both these. Sinclair will start this week as they are against newly promoted Bournemouth and Sakho is against my doubling up Arsenal defence.

not going with a Norwich def myself, though i see Bassong in alot of set-ups. Is Martin not a better choice at the same price? was under the impression that he's more nailed-on and seems to offer more of an attacking threat too

Same big three in midfield, but I'm not rotating any of my front 7. Be aware that Targett may only get a game or two in the PL with Bertrand recovering well.

Personally I would go for Arsenal Mid (8.5-9) + Sakho over Payet + Giroud.
I wouldn't be confident of Giroud starting and Payet is unproven in the prem.
There's also the added bonus of having 1M-1.5M left over depending on who your Arsenal Mid is.
