So 2 Seasons are going which imo is very sad to see and if rumor on the street is to be believed then Currys are not to far behind. I even heard talk the one beginning with A (with a whole lot of fuss getting them here in the first place) it is not supposed to be doing so well.

Absolutely. People do buy the odd CD, my self included, but with them so cheap in Tescos, and on line, the highstreet record stores can not compete. A proper music store, selling a whole varity of music genres, different formats, who can order in or stock rarities, or more obscure titles would do better. Weather there is the demand in Sligo is another mater.

Same here, I'm old school and still prefer the physical aspect of music as opposed to mp3s. Still have cassettes and vinyl from my youth and tons of CDs since!

Passed by Pepper Alley today, so sad to see the for sale signs up. I guess that O'Briens must have affected their business and the motor tax office move probably didn't help Park Alley either!

Must be the only town in the world that a Subway is closing down... Everywhere else they are popping up everywhere. Shame but hopefully someone else takes on the franchise in Sligo

Judging by Digiby's post I'd speculate the guy didn't fancy paying the franchise fee and is going to run it unfranchised, probably won't notice much difference...

I've known a couple to close, in Donegal Town and Letterkenny, always thought the Sligo one was quite busy though.

Well I doubt that to be true considering the paedo issue in the US! Ive plenty of friends in the US who have declared never to visit another Subway ever again.

That's ridiculous..

Don't get me wrong.. I can understand people's disgust at this but why exactly would people stop eating at Subway due to this? No-one can honest suspect Subway knew of this, and are people attributing it to their Subway's sandwiches? I don't think anyone suspects their subs turns you into a paedophile. Christ! :rolleyes:

I know, what the heck has that individuals actions got to do with going in and eating at Subway, really mental the way people react to news. I wound my friends up on facebook by making light of it stating "oooh I hope with all you guys boycotting it they have some great offers to entice us back in again!" It didnt go down to well, the US sense of humour is slightly different to my own!

I'm not sure. I'd imagine it will be a matter of an investigation taking place.
It's a pity as it was a nice resteraunt. Hopefully it re-opens soon.

Popular restaurant it seemed, and a few more unemployed people in town is never good, not to mention some of the apartments were reportedly damaged too.

that's a shame about the food experience i liked their rolls, i noticed they moved out the big fridge in recent months never a good sign. wonder will they continue to do the precooked dinners they distribute to the local shops? bad luck on that fire alright.

RTE 2 now a re run of the takeover programme and its ruby lane that's on guess the restructure didn't work

I've heard that they're still doing the ready meals because apparently they're produced in Carrick on Shannon, not the Sligo store.

Yep, notice on premises says ready made meals are still available in usual shops and the home catering service is as normal. Production of meals had to move to Carrick as the space above shop was too small for the amount they produced.

Some items in the restaurant's Tumble-dryer went up.

That was the Strandbar's restaurant that had the fire and not TraBan above it.

Didn't say Tra Ban was the cause of the fire... but they were affected as a result of it.
