History has proved that western intervention here is going to make the situation much worse for all involved. Therefore, the solution must come from the Muslim world itself. So far, it is not coming. Yes, yes. The slave states of the gulf are making some token efforts. Air raids for PR purposes while with the other hand allegedly supplies their ostentatious foes. Others (Jordan, Lebanon, what's left of Syria) simply don't have the muscle to do anything but defend their own borders. In fact, the only capable local power making more than a token effort to defeat ISIS is Iran. Not that they are doing this for purely altruistic reasons, but at least they are doing something. It's a sad reflection on the states of the Muslim world when it's most virtuous member in a crisis is the Islamic Republic of Iran.
