Its for reasons above that i'm thankful that the Wrestling With Shadows documentary exists. WWE will always try to re-write history to suit themselves, and frankly, I don't think anybody can blame Bret for not wanting to drop the title to Shawn after his comments about not returning the favour. Losing in Canada wasn't the real issue for Bret anyhow. It was the way Shawn had disrespected him and his family continually that led to all of this.

I always wondered, what power has Shawn over Vince to have gotten away with all he did? We've all heard the rumors, perhaps there's an inkling of truth in there someplace.

Hart of War was horrendous. The whole Monday Night War has been a huge letdown. As irritating as it is that they rewrite history to paint themselves as the poor, disadvantaged underdogs fighting evil Billionaire Ted, the bigger frustration is that every episode has been WWF themed bar the NWO one. So apparently WCW had one good idea and that was it. I dreamt the success of Goldberg, DDP's rise to prominence, the cruiserweight division, etc, etc.

How many episodes are in the series?

I imagine they have enough material to go with those ideas and likely will in the future.

He had a valid WWF contract and the belt was established in court cases as the intellectual property of the promotion, not the temporary property of the champion"

It's an interesting piece but you'd have the be very naive to believe the above. If WCW could have had anyway to get the WWF Title onto Nitro to be disrespected they'd have done it and dealt with any consequences later.

As Rovert via Meltzer pointed out, Bret had 3 weeks to run on his contract, it would have been financial suicide for both him and WCW to break the contract in such a way.

I think WWE were never concerned about that, their main concern would have been Bischoff announcing to the world that they had signed the current WWF champion the night after Montreal.

Meh, I am not bothered if we have to wait a day for WWE PPV on WWE Network because I never stay up to watch WWE PPV unless it is Royal Rumble or WrestleMania.

I will be upset though if we dont get NXT and Main Event on our version of WWE Network.

But this is all speculation coming from "beta" tester of WWE Network.

I really do hope our version is just like US version because dont feel like paying for VPN for another month.

I've been saying from day one and still think Sky have a huge say in what version of the Network we get in Ireland/UK due to the huge money they paid for exclusive rights to show WWE over here.

I don't think so, I think the ball was firmly in WWE's court with regard negotiations considering BT could have easily snapped a deal with them and the fact that WWE provide them with so much new weekly content.

Also wasn't it WWEs idea for SBO to show PPV's

Watching Royal Rumble 94.... For a big man Yokozuna is pretty fast, love his leg drop! Doubt we will ever see such a bohemoth of a man who can actually wrestle again.

Has WWE forgot how to book heel monsters? Yoko won the rumble and headlined a mania in the space of a year.

Suppose same could be said about Brock, but he is easily promotable. Yoko was a massively overweight foreign wrestler.

why couldn't WWE promoted day Rusev in the same manager when he debuted. Or Umaga why couldn't he have just beat Cena in that excellent Last Man Standing match? What made Yoko so successful?

You may be right.

But I just can't see Sky after paying 3 times the money for an exclusive rights contract they already had and then telling the WWE it's ok to show your PPV's for $9.99 when we charge £15.99/€21.99.

I was one of those who thought BT might have made a bid but they showed no interst at all in WWE. BT as of right now are after Sky's Football and Rugby.

BT would have taken the WWE. Sky couldn't risk it either way.

Sky don't do PPV anymore. It doesn't work in Europe. If you look at the history of wrestling on PPV in UK/Ireland it was driven by WWE. I will be so surprised if they cause a fuss over the Network.

Watched the royal rumble 2001 originally shown on channel 4. I loved the royal rumble itself. Stone cold bleeding and that shot of him and rock in opposite corners and they locked eyes. Unreal.

Remember Big Show was gone for a few months and returned at that Rumble.

I used to hate the ppvs being on channel 4 :P

Weirdly I was thinking about that one yesterday. It might be my favourite Rumble (I know a lot of people prefer 2002). Kane was immense throughout - still laugh at the Honky Tonk Man & Drew Carey spots. Scotty 2 Hotty's face when he realised he was stepping in the ring with Kane & Undertaker, Rock going through the table thanks to Big Show, the Hardcore Rumble part, Austin winning - it was just a fantastically well put together match.

Think it was Haku/Meng's WWF debut too. Definitely my favourite Royal Rumble. Kane was a beast.

Supposed to arrive here October 1st and still no advertising or news. This only increases my worry that Sky have gotten a stranglehold over it.

Id reckon if Sky had a stranglehold on it we'd know well about it considering skys hype machine.

It's this, for certain. Think about it, the network was made available in over 100 countries back in August, and I'm sure they didn't go through an extensive marketing campaign in each of these countries to promote the product. Despite us and the UK getting shows frequently, they just don't care about anyone unless they live in America. Just look at Canada, they got screwed over pretty bad.

How did Canada get screwed?

Haven't been paying much attention to he network as it wasn't available. But did they not get the full version in Canada or something?
