Opinions on: (current team) De Gea Terry Pieters Van Aanholt Fabregas--Ramsey--Mata--Sigurdsson ----Sturridge---Rooney---Fletcher---- Subs: Gilks(gk), King, Moore, TaylorVs (possible team) Mannone ----Terry Jones Wilson---- Fabregas---Ramsey---Mata---Sterling Costa---Rooney---Fletcher Subs: Krul(GK), King, Moore, Bruce The thinking being that it allows me to bring Costa in who has a really nice run of games to begin with and bump Sigurdsson up to Sterling to still give me solid Liverpool attacking cover, i see Liverpool continuing to score lots of goals and Sterling having a great season being more involved in Liverpool's attacking chances with Suarez gone. Defence takes a bit of a knock to allow the move as i had to free up £.5mil for the move but i don't think it's suffered too badly. Jones can easily be swapped for Evans when fit again if needs be etc. Bit of a question mark over Wilson for Stoke starting but FFS seem to think he will and at £4.5mil you cant ask for better really with Stokes opening fixtures if he does. Maybe i should just step away from the laptop and leave my team alone, like i said i'm quite happy with my current selection it's just that £1mil it leaves me with annoying me!

Left myself with this at the moment: De Gea Luis Caulker Chambers Henderson Navas Ramsey Young Costa Sturridge Rooney subs: Gilks, Siggy, Hutton, Duff 3 big guns up front is the way i want to go. 0.5 left in the bank. Not entirely happy but sure ye never are!
Paully D wrote: » Well here's my starting team pending any news updates on Friday:GK: I was originally on rotating goalkeepers (SUN/NEW) but when it dawned on me that for the first few weeks I'd almost always want to play my away goalkeeper instead of the home goalkeeper and Evans got injured it changed my ploy. De Gea will start every week and United have insanely kind fixtures for the first number of weeks. Barring an injury or suspension, I don't think this selection will pose any worries.DF: Terry has had no World Cup, is fresh and flying in pre-season and should start at CB alongside Cahill. His goal potential from set pieces gives him the nod for me. I had £5.5m to spend on my 2nd main defender and was struggling to decide. I eventually went for Debuchy who has a nice first fixture and the price gives me scope to chop and change a bit of needed. I think he will get some decent attacking returns (he had 1 goal and 4 assists along with 9 clean sheets in just under 30 games last year) and Arsenal were a very solid side who should chip in with plenty of clean sheets. I want the excellent STO/SWA home rotation as my 3rd defender every week and while I'm admittedly not too enthused paying £5m on a Stoke defender, I feel this rotation will prove to be worth it. Aside from Shawcross, Bardsley looks most likely to start the season in the Stoke back four. I don't rate him as a player at all but do admit that he has potential to chip in with a few goals. A perfect example of picking with head and not heart for FPL.MF: This speaks for itself I think with the pick of Sigurdsson on the presumption that he will be playing off the main striker.ST: I was originally on Sturridge, but I've backed out and decided on Costa. Chelsea have some very nice games over the first few weeks. Fletcher should play as the main ST for Sunderland and will score between 8-12 as he usually does, if he's fit and playing. No other £6m striker or less has a proven track record like Fletcher does spanning across 3 different teams at this level.Bench: One of Taylor/Bardsley, Albrighton should be up there in the £4.5m category and Wisdom will start the first couple of weeks at least for West Brom. By then, options in the cheap categories will be a lot clearer and should be attainable ahead of price rises.Worries: - No Manchester City or Liverpool involvement despite their gluttony of goals last year - Heavily dependent on Manchester City and Chelsea. If one or both of them have an off day it would badly impact on my score in any given gameweek. With their fixtures I'd rather be with them than against them I suppose and all players selected I'm confident should be at the higher end of points scorers. - Wouldn't want to be depending on the bench to bail me out more (though it will change as the semi-decent cheaper options reveal themselves) So, what say you? After 10's of drafts I finally think I'm almost there!

Lemlin wrote: » I didn't quote the post about your team because of its length. I like your team but I'd have to question Chambers. I can't see the point of including him for a week or two. It's a four point hit waiting to happen IMO. Midfield and strikers look good. I like the idea of Coutinho but haven't included him in my own team because he burned me at the start of last season when I had huge expectations for him. I'd also go with Bartley of Swansea ahead of Hutton. I just don't rate Lambert's defensive tactics one bit.
