All fine looking lambs JT - but I must say that Lleyn is Lovely looking, the Charolais is a fine lamb too.
The Lleyn looks lovely and meaty - would you find they could be killed at lower weights than other breeds?

the Lleyn lambs are CH X ...John, or if you look at left hand side off the bottom picture you will see a Hampshire down X Lleyn

don't have any pure Lleyn lambs only the mothers , bought last autumn no offspring sold yet

grass got ahead of us in that field & I think thrive is suffering a bit as a result

Finally got the lambs dosed for worms this evening. Moved to new paddock afterwards aswell. Great evenings work. Some noise in the shed though. Bought the race last year. Makes life much easier. Selection of lambs shown. Average 6 weeks now.

Race is very handy but to draft sheep I find you need a second person to drive them in or else a very vocal dog, how did you seperate lambs sea?I see draft gate is at opposite end

Ran them all through race and separated lambs and ewes. Hence the noise. Then ran all the lambs back up the way they had come. If that makes sense

It does, you must of moved the gates from the front.

Yep took picture before setting up.
1st lambed April 1st. So average 6 weeks. Need a cobalt dose aswell though. Eating out of the hedge every opportunity. Ears a bit scally. How early can u give a boluses to lambs. I usually give the mineral drench but might give the bolus to same on time long term.

I gave the the ewes a cobalt bolus when the lambs were getting their dose, prob at around 7 weeks or so.
I kinda thought the lambs would get enough cobalt through the milk for a while yet.

I'll see how they're doing, might give em a cobalt dose in a few weeks.

howdy all,
its been a while, all change round here since i was last on. Anyhoo hope alls well with one and all.
Was at the silage early this morning, don't look too hard at the state of the field made sh1te of it in places last night with a fully loaded fusion.

There was a hair on my phone when I was looking at photo and I thought it was a lactose and I was like holy feck this lad likes hardship!!!

Have to buy a ram later in the year and think I'll go Lleyn. Had very little problems this year lambing the PB lleyns. Also, maybe the PB are worth more as breeding stock?

Got the gates off clonroche agri build last year. Very happy with them. Easy to setup and link together and none broken yet.
