Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just got an email to say that I'm going through to Stage 4. It's an assessment centre in the last two weeks in May.

Congrats. Any idea what is meant by assessment centre? Is it a group interview/written exercise?

Congrats. Any idea what is meant by assessment centre? Is it a group interview/written exercise?

In the booklet it says it may consist of a competitive interview, group exercises and written exercises. The email I got today didn't say anything else other than it would take place in the last 2 weeks of May.

Yay, got the email today saying i'm off to Stage 4. Same as above, will be an assessment centre day in the last 2 weeks of May.

    Hello,

I also applied for this role but only just found this thread. I received an email telling me about the assessment day on May 22nd, anyone else get it? Just wondering if it's just the one assessment day or if they'll be holding assessments for many candidates over a number of days.

Never done anything like this and didn't think I'd make it passed the previous tests so now I really don't know what to expect!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭bluethunder

Yeah, i've a date for the 23rd. I'm fairly certain there will be a number of days set for people. Interview I can handle but have never done a group exercise or report writing exercise, should be interesting.

Great to get this far, best of luck everyone.

Cheers Bluethunder, it is good to get this far. Those numeracy tests have been my downfall in the past. Interesting that you got called in for a repeat of Round 3, I wonder what the numbers are like overall?

Also, the application form asks for a summary of secondary school results...I'll be damned if I can actually recall those at this stage.

    Best of luck anyway.

Im in on the 27th so could be over the 2 weeks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 81 ✭✭safc_pete

I'm on the 29th in Dublin.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭bluethunder

Mine is in Cork, sounds like there could be a bit of a wait to hear the outcome if people have assessments the following week. Anybody have their day in Cork on the week starting the 26th?

So they're probably doing one week in Dublin and one week in Cork...

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭Malarkey101

How did people get on this week was their many in each group?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

    Anyone hear anything yet?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭bluethunder

Not a peep, i'm expecting to hear something by Friday at the latest going by what they told us at the assessment centre. Heart skips a beat every time the phone rings/I get an email.

    Best of luck everyone.

They said we would hear within the next 2 weeks when I was at the assessment so not really expecting to hear anything until next week myself.

Offered a post. Couldnt take it as was in the wrong county!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

Was very upset about it. Would have loved it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 106 ✭✭roe_cat

Thought it was just Cork or Dublin - and you say which you're applying for at the beginning?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

I applied for cork. Got offered dublin. Apparently its a panel and where ever your on the panel is where you ll be offered. Not sure is dublin or cork first on the panel fillment. I looked for feedback to find where i placed

When you applied did you tick the box that you were interested in both Cork and Dublin?

Did they give you much feedback as to when the fullfillment would be taking place for Cork?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

No just said cork. No feedback yet. Was very upset about it. Would have absolutely loved it

I wonder why they offered Dublin to you then id you stated just Cork on the application form?

Was it e-mail of phone they contacted you by?

Sorry for all the questions, on edge here waiting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

By phone call. She said it was just position on the panel and thats why i was offered dublin

  • Registered Users Posts: 77 ✭✭Malarkey101

Still havent heard but im assuming its not good if other have gotten offers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

They may just be waiting to see where they want to put people first. I wouldnt be disheartened yet until officially hear job is not being offered

    I wouldn't necesarily say that's the case.

Of all the people who went for interview only one person has had any subsequent contact.

Will have to wait and see I would think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Sir Nonchalant

Same situation here; not heard anything yet. I don't know though, not sure my assessment day went all that well.

Only one person *on this thread* has had any subsequent contact, that's only a handful of people out of 48. Who knows how many others have been contacted.

I'll try and maintain some optimism, though and I certainly prefer your interpretation.

There are alot of people on this thread who have commented, I'd be interested to know how many have heard anything back

I still think its all to play for. I turned it down cause it was in dublin but im hoping against hope they ll come back to me with cork. Until i hear a full out rejection im staying positive. Everyone else should too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 106 ✭✭roe_cat

    Well - it's been 2 weeks and I've heard nothing :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Sir Nonchalant

Oh fair points, Nidot and Eloisemcl, it's better to stay positive. I was just thinking that others must have been contacted but either haven't checked in here or don't even know the thread exists (The group I was with were entirely unaware)

And roe cat, 3 weeks today for me. Staying positive but kind of want to know one way or the other now really.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 372 ✭✭Nidot

    3 weeks today for me

Would it fair to assume that everyone commenting on this thread applied for Cork???

  • Registered Users Posts: 15 Sir Nonchalant

Certainly true for me. I'd take either though!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 167 ✭✭bluethunder

I've been holding back on posting here (didn't want to jinx anything til I got something in writing) but suppose I can give an update now cause I know how frustrating it was to be waiting for a call/email. I got a call last Friday and was offered a post in Cork. Delighted and will be accepting.

@Eloisemcl: From what you've been saying here, and I may be wrong, it seems to me you were not offered a position/post but only a place on the panel for Dublin? As I understand panels you will be on standby should additional roles come up in the future or someone in the post moves on.

To all the others, I can only say best of luck and hope it works out.

Thanks for the information bluethunder, hopefully it works well for you, well done.

That does seem to suggest that I get a move on looking elsewhere though.

Still haven't heard anything either. Kinda not looking great for my chances I'm guessing at this stage.

    Gratz on the job bluethunder.

Thanks guys. If anyone has been waiting for a response longer than what they were told then perhaps it might be an idea to get in touch? I sent an email to them (cause I was terribly impatient and couldn't stand the waiting) and got a call a few hours later with the offer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

I emailed and got an offer not long after either. So it might be an idea to get in touch.

Congrats bluethunder. Im delighted for you and anyone who got it!

Perhaps you might clarify for the other posters: did you get an offer of a post or did they offer you a place on the panel?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13 Eloisemcl

They offered me a post in dublin. I couldnt take it as we are moving to cork for my husbands job. I had applied for cork and interviewed in cork.

Well, fired off an email there and got an "Out of Office" response... :-/

Oh well, I'd call but I suspect if they'd wanted me they'd know where to get me. Never gotten that far in the process before and did like the sound of the job. Looks like time to move elsewhere though.

Has anyone been able to contact a member of HIQA to get a response other than those who have confirmed they got an offer on here already (bluethunder & Eloisemcl).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 106 ✭✭roe_cat

Haven't tried contacting them- but was told it would be about two weeks - was 2 weeks yesterday so haven't actually been waiting that long even if it feels like forever...

Just an out of office email reply and then I left a voice mail.

Looking like I'll have to restart the job hunt.

No news here either. I did my interview on the 28th, and was told I'd hear in about 10 days or so. I've sent them an email a couple of minutes ago, and got an out of office reply as well.
