The debt shows up 4th for me, behind Social, Health and Education. What's really worth noting is that the bank bailout is only 23% of the debt.

Well this slider is one way to shut up the tax the rich guys. Just look at the % difference of rate of tax between 11,000 and 150,000 and at the end of the day your still the same people using the services.

Now I'm on the dole and plan to take full advantage of the system.

Not one bit ashamed either, Ireland is a fcking joke and it doesn't reward hard work what so ever. I realized in short time it rewards useless bastards.

not surprised at pensions being so high. would have thought that people were aware that its a major area of expenditure.

Not that amazing. Its a standard redistribution of wealth that occurs in nearly every quasi-socialist democratic state in the World.

Look at the Government tab and prepare to have your eyes water at how much of your tax goes to Civil Service pensions compared to the other Government agencies in the tab.

There are either a **** load of Civil Service pensioners or, more likely, we're funding a fairly jet set lifestyle for a certain number of ex Civil Servants who got out when the time was right.

Probably the most corrupt and injust society this side of Russia we've got going on here.

How long had you to wait to qualify for the dole? Can you intentionally make yourself unemployed and get dole straight away? If you can the country is indeed a joke.

I'm not willing to divulge how I can work the system but I didn't have to wait.
I just observe what other people do. Ireland will be consumed by crime because it's fostered a welfare system that's completely unsustainable.

I have no long term plans to remain in the country but If I did get a cushy number with the government, I'd obviously stay.
