I don't your reasoning at all, and there is no real logic to your explanation.
I don't like eclass mercs, in fact I hate the fookers, as I have always found them to be driven by people who tend to have a "I rule the road attitude" and when I learned to drive a neighbour in one caused me untold grief with his rude behaviour.

However the OH has recently gotten a 00 e class merc and loves it as he's a lazy driver, likes that it's automatic, comfy and big and solid.

I got to drive it tonight for the first time (took him a good month to get over his fear that I'd go insane and take off like a rocket - in an e class?)

Anyway I thought it was a very dull drive compared to the alfa, and didn't enjoy driving it at all, so it's just added to my dislike of the car.

however, as it's an automatic and my left knee is banjaxed to some extent, there are days when it will be great for me to have it to drive if my knee is acting up.

There is good and bad in every car I've driven three series and loved them, but am unlikely to ever own one, simply because I don't especially want one, but I do think that bmw drivers tend to be closer to my taste than e.g. e class drivers.

I was quite delighted at how disgusted the OH was that without any real instruction, I just got in the car and drove it and parked it without incident.

It was funny though we had a computer teacher come in and ask us have any of us used design/drafting software before, I was the only one who had, everyone kept staring me out of it whenever he asked a question about them then

Coming from a 318i and a volvo via a vw, I dont think you should be calling anyone's car a pile of dung.

And, why is a 5 series for men but a 7'er for real men? What differentiates the two? And why am I less of a man for driving a 5'er instead of a bloated 730d which is heavier and down on power compared to my 5'er

You'll be the popular guy on nights out to dandelion when every 18 year old girl will be throwing themselves at you when they hear your a few years older than them....if that's up your street.

AH I do that all the time if most of mine don't know something and one or two do, it's a particular technique we are taught so we involve at least one person in the class and engage other people to be interested in knowledge other than the tutor.

And KSL left out the six series, personally if I were to buy a BMW and in a world where I had no budget constraints I'd want one of those

@KS&L what's the story with your recent car history Volvo -> Punto ->Van (I think) -> golf -> BMW in the space of a month I think? What's going on?

It's more that when I started training I was in my mid thirties, and was teaching people in their forties/fifties etc, and they assumed as I was younger I didn't have the experience, what I teach is very practical.

Revit, sketchup, in design, photoshop, illustrator, no idea why cuz Ps is better, annnnd solidworks, CAD is the devil up around these parts :pac: Told them I'd been at it for 5 years and yer man was like oh really? Get out :pac:

Our first project is a trip to wexford to a heritage park, that's all we know so far
