Ye it is mostly noise that would be the reason, the 212 evo isnt that loud and does the job for me but if I did make a second build id have to buy a second cooler anyway so was tempted by the value of the refurbed ones on ocuk.

After seeing the shocking coolers intel give with there cpus (noise wise) id definitely want a quieter cooler even for a media pc build.

Was thinking the evo 212 for the media pc and the quieter h100 for gaming rig, it would kill me to pay full price though, they cost so much!!

Am I on the right track? Am ordering today. (Finally :P). 4770k is arriving Wednesday, hopefully this stuff from HWVS will arrive by Friday.

Took a look today when I was piecing together my gear in the new rig.

There are 6 3-pin fan connectors attached to built-in fan controller.

They're labelled FAN A1, A2, A3 and FAN B1, B2, B3.

The top slider on the fan controller controls the speed that all the As are spinning at and the bottom the Bs. You also need to plug the controller into a molex.

I just put the intakes in the A connectors and the exhausts in the Bs.

The design is very solid, I didn't like the little openable vent on top at first, but then I realised I much prefer it to actually being able to see the mesh where the fans are.

I have to say I like the look of the case in person a lot better than I thought I would, very sleek looking. I went for the black version.

There could be a bit more room for cable management. My PSU is non-modular and it took some time consuming packing & cable tying before I could get most of the cables hidden round the back and then 2 of us to get the side panel on properly because it was bulging a fair bit. None of this would be a problem with a modular PSU though.

I removed 2 of the 3 hard drive cages and just left in the top one. Unfortunately there's no way to properly secure it as the bottom and middle ones are screwed in, then attached to the top one which secures the whole rack. This is a little annoying but I think I'll get over it.

Try MemoryC? By far the best place for stuff like that. Free shipping on anything over 15 quid, very cheap shipping otherwise with competetive pricing.

It's pretty quiet. Mine has 6 case fans and doesn't make anything more than a very low hum. Yeah the controller is 2 channel, each slider controls 3 fans.

That connection is weird,if anything it looks like an extension

Either way the NZXT sleeved cables are nasty imo,there very stiff and more like plastic than actual sleeve.

I've got 3 of these and the three case fans that came with the case.

I find it very quiet, but my old case was fairly out of date so it was quite loud, I might not be the best judge.

Same situation for me. I will see a difference either way. What you think of the enermaxs vs the stock fans or is there even a difference that you can tell?

Edit: well the enermaxs are running at 750 so even if they were bad fans they'd still be pretty quiet I suppose

Hopefully the good airflow will translate to good temps for CPU and card. How are you finding performance in those areas? I'm going to have pretty high-end air setups for those components so hopefully the case cooling is up to snuff.

Overclocked my graphics cards and can finally get above 30fps in Arma 3. Can actually play it now
