It depends on who the thanker is. There are so many terrible posts thanked that it devalues the thanks somewhat. And then there are the posters who strike one as so thick or irritating that it makes one cringe to receive a thanks from them.

Not a lot of new users know this, but there's a secret forum where there's a black market trade in thanks. There's about 100 regulars and they just repeatedly thank each others posts in exchange for "cyberfavours". Strange place.

I check my "thanks" the odd time, mainly because I generally always forget what I say on here (in about two minutes, I'll have forgotten that I made this post), so it's a nice reminder. However half the time I cannot understand why some were; there's a lot of weird people out there.

'Delighted' is a bit of a stretch to be honest. I'd much rather the kind where people thank in agreement with a point of view. I'll still thank a genuinely funny post, but make a point of thanking a post that someone has put a lot of effort into.

By the way, is your keyboard missing some keys?

I never check back on anything I post. I rarely ever check back to see if anyone even replied to it. Let alone check for likes. Often it's days later again I remember and the thread has been buried too much to reply. The fantasy soccer one is probably the exception.
