Obertan and Guthrie aren't great options. You could upgrade them to better players. They're both bargain basement players who will get you 1/2 points every week but no more. At the moment Dempsey isn't a great option to have either. He refuses to play for Fulham but he still hasn't sealed his move to Liverpool. Hazard is a good one though. Van Persie is a good enough option but you'd save yourself 4 million downgrading to Tevez. That'd sort out the rest of your forward line which I'm sorry to say is very poor. Dong and Smith will struggle to score 4 goals between them all season. If you're willing to play on with so many expensive defenders in your team then best of luck to you. If you're not then I'd consider using the wildcard and posting on here to check that your players are the right ones. Of course feel free to ignore all of my suggestions. You did score more than me this week but I wouldn't be confident of that team in the long run.

The heavy investment in defence is by design. Defenders tend to give the most bang for the buck in the game imo. I used a similar approach the last time I actively played the game in 09/10. I finished then with 2164 in total, which I was happy with. I agree that there are maybe one or two too many bargain bin players in that line-up right now though. I've been considering trasferring RVP alright since he moved to Man U. There's an element of uncertainty about whether he'll do so well there as he did with Arsenal. Would have transferred him already, only I made the team before that happened, and only looked back after the start. I think it's a good idea to have one or two of the highest scoring players, even if they are expensive - just for the captaincy bonus. Is Tevez a safe bet then? I would have thought he's not guaranteed to be a regular starter. He hasn't always been, and there are a lot of strong options in Man City.

Scores for the last 2 years have been a bit lower and that score in either of the last 2 years would have seen you up near the top 10,000. These lower scores were probably because many followed your defenders done well last year situation and that just hasn't happened the last 2 seasons.
Jimmy Iovine wrote: » Yea I had 2,269 and only finished 30,000th. That wouldn't have been too far off the top last year. Can't compare different years at all really.
Jimmy Iovine wrote: » Personally, I think Tevez is a safe enough bet. You can never be too sure but Aguero got injured at the weekend. I'm not sure how long he'll be out for or if he'll be out at all but Tevez is the main man at the moment. He has started their last two games and scored in both. He's dirt cheap in comparison to others and he is a real threat.

With Aguero out injured it means that as it stands I'll only have 10 starters that week. without taking a points hit. So I'm thinking of leaving Aguero on the bench and going with my original plan and hope that by the marvels of modern science that Aguero gets back early. I have 3m to spare in the bank as well. Any opinions?
