Irish in the six counties have gone to much further lengths for sovereignty then any living person in the republic, and suffered greatly as a result. It cost them their economy. What right do we have to exclude them if thats their wish, after all their Irish. There are regular opinion polls on the topic amongst Northern Ireland's Catholics and Protestants. Their easy to find online. A quick glance implies reunification's popularity (amongst Catholics) follows economic strength in the republic. So perhaps it will/could happen in the next boom/sustained upturn?

I'd love it to happen, but if Ireland hasn't United since then its less likely to happen regardless of intervention. So think its never going to happen but if did it be decades away! If it were to have happened it would have happened already! I really can't see it happening.

Norn Iron has no strategic importance, (didn't the British concede this as a pretext for the ceasefire?) and is in fact an economic burden on the UK. Personally I don't really care as long as people aren't being killed and the minority continues to take its place in the PS/CS and the PSNI so the statutory elements of NI cannot get away with what they did ever again.
