I want to kill an animal.

I'm leaving the country is 6 weeks or so and having read the vegetarian thread, I really want to either capture or hunt an animal, kill it, cook it and eat it before I leave.. The problem is I don't have access to a gun and while I like fish, I'd rather eat a proper animal.

What would be easiest way to go about doing this? And i'm not going to eat a mouse either.

Well if you want to kill an animal why not go big and go for a Humpback Whale? There have been a few sightenings in the last couple of months off Ireland.

Plenty of eating(36,000kg) on them and might not be a bad idea that your leaving the country soon after before the arrest warrent kicks in. You could always go old school and try throwing the harpoons at it.

The bonus is whale products such as oil and bone are always in demand on the black market so a nice tidy profit to finance your travels away from Interpol and replace any missing body parts from the hunt.

I remember going on a walk up the hill in Carlingford to do a spot of rock climbing. On the way back all the new spring lambs were running around, hiding under their mothers and generally enjoying the lovely spring weather and the joy of being a young care free lamb. They were delicious.

Humans are top of the food chain because of intelligence and use of tools.. We don't need to be any bigger to be more powerful that every other animal..

I have a few broilers ready for slaughter next week. You can kill one of them and cook it for a minimal cost

You can even kill 2 if you can eat them.

im arguing against the argument that because you can do something you should or because your superior to another creature you have the right to kill it.

Im not totally againt hunting but "hunting" rabbit or shooting a creature from afar with a gun is pussy.

What i did have repect for is mike tyson asking a zookeeper can he go into the cage with a fully grown silver back gorilla and asking could he punch him in the head!

Humans are said to taste good would you eat them? top of the food chain in some ways but not others chimps eat humans sometimes (babies) as do bears, tigers , lions, insects (when we die), komodo dragons and snakes.

I'm sure many people don't have an objection to that. If I'm out in the wilds of wherever and a bear eats me so what? It's only doing what bears do. Similarly the OP is only doing what human's do; killing for food. The fact that it's all done at such a remove to the consumer is a shame, IMO (not that I'm advocating abbatoirs in Tesco or anything. Too many people seem to have this idea of bunnies living happy, carefree lives before a mean old hunter shoots them, and it's crap. Rabbits live every moment of their lives under threat of being ambushed, disemboweled and eaten alive, and that's if they're not seriously injured in a fight over territory or a mate and die in horrible, horrible pain days later, or if they don't contract a disease and die a horrible, lingering, agonising death. A ball of lead in the left ear is a quick and merciful death compared to what a predetor would do to it.
