Hey everybody,
This board is amazing. Full of information. must have been reading all the different posts for the last 4 hours. so much information to take in.
FINALLY got my letter to begin training at the end of july.
Cant wait, nerves beginning to kick in. had forgot all about it, applied in june 2007 and only found out yesterday!!!!yyeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i never knew my merit score. i wonder can i find out now what it was?? ahhhh who cares!!!! i'm in

started working my way through that shopping list posted by 'PSNI'. Lucky i found it to cos i'd never have thought to bring any of that stuff.
i would have landed with a notebook and toothbrush. and from the sound of some of these posts i've been reading that would not have gone down to well:rolleyes:

i got no call either! Just a letter through on tuesday, which i really wasn't expecting. Although i was away on holiday you would've thought if they had tried calling me they would've left a message on my voicemail!

i dont think they are leaving messages on voicemail anymore! i think i got the phonecall last friday but i was working and i never answered my phone- but no voicemail! then on tuesday i got another call which someone else answered so i rung them back on my break and that was it!

I handed mine in today - they were NOT happy! It looks like I'll have to pull a sickie to make the induction, there is zero chance of them giving me it off - which means I would have to just leave for good at that point. My bank account wouldn't thank me for that!

Well I used to date my boss, and we still get on really well (she already knew all about it), but I don't trust the senior management at all, so on my resignation I told them it was a job in public service, and when pushed told them the Fire Service. There are a few shady characters where I work and thought it best not to let them know.
They were ragin' because no one else there is qualified in what I do, otherwise they would probably have told me to just leave straight away. That's what they usually do to people who resign as they class them as 'a risk to the business'. It pays better than the cops, but I don't really care, I want a job where I can actually feel satisfied with what I do!

Same! i meant to hand my notice in today, but totally chickened out! I had the letter and all written and in the envelope ready to go. I definately have to do it tomorrow.

ps - im the same suzie. my manager loves me. hes a really really nice man. i told him and he could have cried. im a mini version of him. doing the pony dance and 'shoe shine shuffle' dances we always do for the rest of the punters in work aha. ohhhh ill miss it
