What actual ****. It's not even online play...
We have come a long way from playing Halo 3 4 player split screen online with one account.
And then there's the PC experience of, yeah you don't have to pay anything because paying to play online is stupid.
One of the Guillemot family that controls Ubisoft has died in a plane crash.
That sounds like it's not local multiplayer and instead is using splitscreen for online play.
Bafflingly stupid decision. So if you want to play with a family member, they now need their own PS Plus. Bewildering.
Apparently it's an always online game, for a remade campaign that originally had split screen offline coop as Xbox Live hadn't started yet.
Seriously wtf does a campaign only remake of Halo require an online connection at all times.
The Halo team have clarified that for local split-screen on PS5, each person will require their own PlayStation account but does not require PS Plus.

Wouldve been absolutely insane if it was as they originally stated. Wouldn't have put it passed MS though.
Would have had to do with Sonys policies rather than MS.
Seems a genuine mistake by MS.
Apparently these will be GTAVI's prices.
Could be placeholders but seems believable. Will find out this week I suppose.
Standard Edition — €89.99
- Deluxe Edition — €109.99
- Premium Edition — €129.99
- Collector’s Edition — €199.99
Is it coming on a N64 cartridge at those prices?
Haha they know they can charge whatever they want i guess.
Wasn't Mario Kart World 90e at Switch2 launch for physical?
Actually you are right. Forgot that.
It was, so was Donkey Kong Bananza.
No excuse for it to be more than €80 other than pure greed. They'll make nearly a billion in day 1 sales going by GTA V launch numbers, 11.2 million, I expect VI to do more. Online is likely to make a billion or more in the first year. Budget back in 1 year. They could sell it for €20 and still probably break even in 2 years, and with an expected 13 year life cycle (probably more now) it's gonna print cash. Unless they drop the ball, which i doubt. All this would be moot if V didn't make over 10 billion in its life, so not like they're broke. Yeah, games are more expensive to make now, but the market is far bigger than it used to be too. GTA 3 sold 1.4 million units in the first year, IV sold 3.6 and V as above sold 33-34. As said above, they're doing it because they know it'll sell regardless.
The title of Aardmans Pokémon project has now been announced.
According to Billbil-kun(who is always 100% accurate) these prices aren't real and are placeholder.
Dbrand have started selling their Companion Cube shell for the Steam Machine ahead of the rumoured release reveal tomorrow.
Half life 3 confirmed.
What an almighty pointless heap of crap that is. 100 quid to encase your pc in a plastic box, that you would need to take apart to make the pc useable and not suffocate. Jesus. 😂
The Steam Machine is designed for the shell to be interchangeable so it shouldn't affect the thermals. Now whether it's worth doing on what already looks to be an expensive piece of underpowered crap is another thing.
Steam Machine prices revealed;

The Steam Machine is available to reserve now, starting at $1049. That price will get you the base 512GB model with no controller. If you do want to add a controller, the price will go up to $1128, which is actually cheaper than buying the two seperately. Or, if you want to maximise storage, you can get the 2TB model for $1349 without a controller, or $1428 with the Steam Controller. No matter which 2TB version you get, though, you'll get two additional faceplates.
Not sure how exactly that translates to Euro, but good god damn... $1049 for the bare basic Steam Machine itself...
Edit: Euro prices almost the exact same

Haha, Christ.
**** this AI bullshit.
Never mind the Steam Machine, next gen is going to be dead on arrival unless something drastic changes.
Seriously, I don't know how Valve expect this to sell at that price. You can get a ROG Ally in Smyths for €600 which is higher spec and can be swapped over to Steam OS from Windows if that's what you want.
I bet it'll sell out. Plenty of people with pucks of money.
I don’t think Valve ever expected to sell it at that price. The catastrophe that is the current tech market had other ideas. AI-driven enshittification of consumer tech continues, even when the devices themselves aren’t AI slop machines.
I think it’ll still sell the first allocation - some people just want the new shiny thing regardless of value - but alas this is a real missed opportunity (albeit not entirely in Valve’s control) to have a good entry level gaming PC designed for a bigger screen,
Was very tempted by this initially as I love my steam deck but that's too much for me.
I will get the controller whenever I get the email but who knows when that is. Currently it's showing at 2027 as my expected timeline but hoping to get it in August as it looks like they have cleared the first 15/20 minutes of orders which would be when the majority of them would have been made (I hope).
I wonder what they were targeting before the RAM crisis
Probably 600-700.
Digital foundry are saying it's PS5 level. Makes it very tough to justify. Might get better when games are about to target the spec better, but that price kills it, at least in my opinion
