Zelenskyy is a master at diplomacy and communication.
Oil rain falling for several days in Tuapse after the Ukrainian strike on its oil refinery. Population 60,000.
A black cloud from it is visible in space and stretched for 300km.
Carbon tax
I finally found the graph. It shows the gains for March and April which still has 8 days left. Most of the gains this month are in the sumy border region so wouldn't be considered critical for now.
You mean he didn't 'biggly' make up new words?? Wouldn't be hard to outperform Low IQ TACO in fairness. But yes, Zelensky has been consistently performing excellently in public for over four years now, which is incredible when you think of the strain he must be under, and having come from a non-political background.
May has seen a big spike in activity for the last couple of years - next month will tell a lot.
His previous job would have made him very media savvy.
No doubt, but there's a big difference in being media savvy with nothing on the line and being media savvy when your nation's existence is on the line, the global powers are throwing you around like a rag doll, and Putin would like to see you personally dead. He's had nothing to prepare him for those kind of pressures - including being throw under the bus live in front of the world's media by the President, Vice President and had picked media of the USA. Compare that with how even in the UK/ Ireland opposition politicians suddenly s**t the bed when they get a position of power and are held accountable for results/ progress.
Hasn’t the “wait and see” Russian meme been done to death 5 years into the Three Day war?
why would “this time it be different”?? The spring offensive died before it got to frontline why would the summer one go better, what changed?
Speaking of memes, some are hilarious
You've lost me I'm afraid. Why are you quoting me and implying "wait and see" and "this time it be different" to my post? What point are you making?
I fail to see how Russian offensive this summer (if there is one) endsup any different to their spring one as Ukraine has an quantity and quality advantage in drones as per article posted earlier on
Throwing more bodies at it just endsup with Zelensky reaching his 50,000 dead Russians per month target
The tactics that may have gained them few square kilometres here and there last year no longer work
Oh, I agree with all that. They've been at it for six weeks now and if anything have lost territory. My comment was simply that May will tell a lot in terms of how successful Ukraine has been in snuffing out their offensive - in 2023 and 2024, March and April saw upticks in territory gained by Russia followed by a big increase in May. So if that doesn't happen this year I think it will show clearer than any other metric to date that the tide has turned in Ukraine's favour.
The big question facing Ukraine (and Europe) is what its next move is - unfortunately Putin has an ally in TACO so sitting out the Russian offensive as they lose heavily in the expectation that they'll be forced to realistic peace negotiations is not really an option. If the US wasn't led by a morally bankrupt paedo then Russia would probably be facing up to the fact that it will need to make serious concessions to get itself out of the hole Putin dug for it.
Then again, if Russia wasn't led by a bona fide dictator with no regard for the life or welfare of ordinary Russian citizens, it would have negotiated a settlement by now. Unfortunately he doesn't care how many lives he has to sacrifice in order to save face and keep hold of power.
The Ukrainians are canny though. I'm sure they're already working on strategizing how to get back the occupied territories.
Yeah May is an important month considering the ground will have dried up. Any momentum gained by either side can be continued until almost October.
Let's see what happens.
I think I've seen every angle possible of this city now.
Hotel Tuapse
New record for Ukraine
Incredible stuff
What drone are they using for that?
Do they need permission to fly into the Stans or do they just hope they won't be shot down?
Didn't bundavov say they'll be surprising the Russians with a new technology the other day?
Zelensky could target the next one a few degrees to the south and take out this happening
All done using low tech, by Ukrainian housewives operating 3D printers in their kitchens, according to Her Rhinemetal.
Imagine what they could accomplish using Engineers and proper machine shops.
Probably this:
It's the type I most frequently see in videos of long range strikes.
I'd imagine a lot of EU workers are on drone production across the EU as well. Seems like the perfect model for us. Doesn't break the bank, mass scalable production in a short timeframe and is exactly what Ukraine needs to stop the Russian hoardes going forward. Not to mention it creates jobs.
One of their largest refineries 800km from the front. The recent rate of long range hits by Ukraine is unprecedented.
Yeah, definitely ramping up. Such a pity Putin’s security detail are not half as lax as his US puppet.
He must be hated by pretty much everyone around him at this stage.
Is there much interaction with the USA on this war anymore?
It feels like Ukraine / Europe is going it alone, and making progress, much better without the Buffoon involved.
As long as the US don’t overtly support Ukraine then Ukrainian prospects long term look good. Still a lot of mindless pain ahead, but I cannot see Russia taking Ukraine fully at minimum.
Russian mercenaries being run out of parts of Mali by rebels
Mali kicked out France who by all accounts were having great success against these rebels. It's a military junta and once again the normal people suffer for the actions of their leaders.
Also the fact they call it the Africa Corps is hilarious irony.
The fundamentals of the Sahel are that you have an exploding population living in an area where Climate Change is making life ever more precarious and political instability in pretty much every country. The latter will only get worse due to the former too.
Niger is a good example. 45% of the countries budget is made up of foreign aid. It's landlocked and almost entirely desert and yet it's population has shot up in an entirely unsustainable way.
It's governed by a military junta since a coup in 2023 led by the head of the old President's guard. Frankly, I don't think any form of government could make country work given the fundamentals.
Climate classification
Population growth curve
Seems to have been busy here lately
The US has been shown in Iran to be stuck in previous century mindset
when it comes to warfare and costs of war, they learned nothing from Ukrainian experience.
By this stage the best Ukraine can hope is US not helping Russia further and remains distracted, even on intelligence front it seems France now provides 3/4s of that.
there’s an interesting article where Ukrainians have brought down the cost of killing each Russian from $66,000 to $1,000
Another article I posted last week shows them out producing Russia 1.3 to 1 across all types of drones from small to long range, where Ukraine now daily uses more long range drones than Russia has Shaheeds which Ukrainians intercept 90% of at a fraction of the cost
