Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
If you want to ignore the illegal deportation of tens of thousands of people to a black hole prison in another country, using children as bait, an intentionally crumbling education system, constant grifting and shifting billions in wealth from the poor to the wealthy....etc etc etc.
The list goes on. Just because thousands of protestors haven't been murdered in the US doesn't somehow make it a paragon of justice. They're just as bad, in their own way.
Following Iran's remarks last night a spokesman for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps " not a litre of oil will leave the middle east until the US and Israel stop bombing "
Sounds fair enough.
There's an interesting movement of Marine Corps kit which supports the boots on the ground theory... looking like a week or two with current momentum.
Im surprised how successful Iran has been in closing the strait, especially since the US claims to have sunk the Iranian fleet. The truth is that the strait is so narrow that it can be closed with drones or artillery.
Like i said boiled brain soup, talking points that have been downloaded from the Internet.
This is our 3rd big energy shock in less than 10 years, fossil fuels are clearly not reliable but soup brained 'blame the eu' and 'marginal energy policy' nonsense is trotted out constantly.
You're probably also in favor of more LNG terminals, and opposed to grid scale batteries as well
Iran not playing ball…
"Iran's Revolutionary Guards also responded to Trump that they would "determine the end of the war".
And Araghchi effectively ruled out talks with Washington, saying Tehran had "a very bitter experience of talking with Americans."
I'm surprised anyone is surprised. Its been extremely well flagged that Iran can easily close the Strait by just making it too dangerous for commercial vessels to pass through.
There is exactly one pipeline which if blown up would set this country back to the Stone Age for the 6mths to a year it take to fix it and of course we neither have storage nor gas terminals thanks to the Green Party
All while all that wind and solar that was built has no gas as backup for their highly unreliable and random generation capacity is not able to run a stable grid, grid batteries are currently 10x the price of nuclear and only offering storage for short periods, not even generation
Again it shows the need to shift to renewable energy. Fossil fuels are largely held by countries that are unstable, and/or dictatorships.
Renewables whose inputs are refined and final product manufactured {using coal and slave labour} in that famous dictatorship called China that never ever threatened anyone with restrictions of supplies, all while pushing every single Europe producer to bankruptcy
/S
They'll need plenty body bags with them, no sane military mind would ever consider a ground force invasion of Iran, they failed in Afghanistan against a disjointed militia and farmers with 70s Russian weaponry, what could possibly makes them think Iran would be any better
Oil prices dropping this morning. It seems the markets are running with Trumps near end scenario.
Trump now insinuating that Iran received Tomahawk missiles from another country that uses them, either that or they stole them somehow.
US, UK, Japan and Australia are the only other countries that have them and the chances of them handing them around are practically zero. No doubt contracts are in place to prevent them being passed onto other states also.
So, who gave the order to attack the school, must of been someone, unless the pilot just went off on one and wanted to murder 160+ kids and teachers.
How can anyone believe a word the man says !
Deporting illegal immigrants is what Governments are supposed to do and we better get started on it over here asap.
Comparing it to slaughtering tens of thousands of protestors in cold blood is just plain crazy and an insult to the victims.
I said the same in a YouTube comment and some guy came back with "Way to pivot to your pet topic". The things is, while I've very much in favour of renewables, it's not something something I think about a lot. It's just that, even leaving the environment and climate aspects aside, that fact that dependence on oil renders us vulnerable to price and supply fluctuations that depend on what the voices in some lunatic's head - English-speaking or otherwise - told him to do on a given day, means that reducing such dependence as much and as quickly as possible is a no-brainer.
Maybe it was Irish, one of those secret Tom O'Hawk missiles.
(I'll get my coat…)
Wow. This is very damning. It won't be forgotten that Trump tried to deny the tomahawk was theirs. Very weak. Even the right whingers in Ireland wouldn't stoop that low when caught out. Well, most of them. Iranians do double tap strikes now too? What a tangled web we weave....
Lapped up by his shills into another wave of denials / whataboutery / deflection
Again this all falls apart when you consider who would do that and what would they gain from it? It's just right wing scaremongering and the morons that fall for it.
Except when you remove the right wing lies about renewables they make fat more sense than fossil fuels and are massively cheaper to built and last decades, unlike one use fossil fuels.
When are you going to retract the false accusations you have been pedalling that the Iranians were responsible for the murder of 168 people in the Shajareh Tayyebeh school bombing?
It is beyond any reasonable doubt that a US Tomahawk missile hit the school, despite your repeated disgraceful claims to the contrary.
That’s an interesting question to be asking in a month where the Iranian regime went on a spree attacking a bunch of neutral countries and their infrastructure
Does the Lenin Peace Prize still exist? I remember Sean McBride used to be lauded as the only one who had won both it and the Nobel. I'm not sure having won the Lenin one was much of a compliment.
Never mention the N word eh, the one that runs green and clean France and other EU states
You can't claim to be a neutral country when you host an aggressors bases or assist in their supply lines.
It should be a wake up call to secure our energy requirements with renewables and batteries.
UNIFIL are largely irrelevant in the current situation and in fact I think their mandate shortly anyway.
I don't think most Lebanese, including the current govt, see it as a binary choice. They want both Israel and Iran out of their politics. Hezbollah can and will remain as a domestic Shia representative group, but their military and Iranian accoutrements need to go.
Israel's constant breaches are not in doubt, but they are related to Hezbollah's continuing armed presence.
Is it not more the case that insurers are refusing to cover oil tankers for the journey? It's effectively closed because of a mere threat - no one will risk passing through.
Sure why not…. if a fashion journalist can give the green light to the EU, who in turn gave the go ahead to the US to attack Iran, this is one of the more plausible arguments.
I think the aim would be to create a DMZ.
I'm getting more and more pessimistic about the strait. I think Iran's only way of hoping to prevent more attacks next year is causing so much problems for the world economy this time that the cost of attacking them becomes etched in everyone's minds.
I hope I am wrong but it's their only weapon.
