The out of contract price for 500Mb open eir/SIRO is €55pm afaik, so you would think they'd offer better than that.
Did you get that in an email from them today? I got that, no mention of my contract ending or anything like that. I've scoured my bill and of course there's no mention of when the contract finishes, that really bugs me😡😡. In fairness to both Flogas and Sky it clearly states on the bill when my contract expires.

Last week I switched to Virgin to get 24mths at €35 + €65 credit, using Switcher.ie. I caught offer before end February. I see this am that the latest offer is 24mths at €35 + €100 credit. Win some loose some.
My eir €40 per month is coming to an end, they offered €45 per month. I asked for then ew customer deal of €35 per month but they said no.

If you do speed upgrade to 1Gb you'll get it for €40 contract 24 months.
I decided to cancel and see would they offer me something better maybe free credits as new customers get €100.
Have they contacted you about it yet? I contacted virgin direct & they told me they'd have to send a technician out to set up a new connection & it'll cost €50. I'm wondering if I apply through switcher.ie will they still charge that.
Not seeing the €100 credit listed, still valid? Is Virgin supplying broadband via Fibre or Coaxial now, I was with Virgin previously on coaxial and it was realiable so either should be fine so if I move to coaxial will have to cancel my existing fibre line initially I expect. I'm with Sky just over 2 years, was €30/m initially then €35/m for 2nd but that ended last month which I've now jacked to €40.50 and with an email stating prices will increase a further €3.50 per month from Apr to time to move.
Edit: Ignore, see the €100 credit is via Switcher and not direct with Virgin, surprised.
The €100 bill credit is on Switcher.ie. If Virgin FTTP is available to you, it'll be listed here as Virgin / Fibre / 5,000Mb/s. They won't use SIRO if their own FTTP/coax is available to you.

You should still be able to get Virgin to cancel Sky for you under the new IAS process, they'll ask for some account details.
Coming up to renewal with Pure on €35 500gb. Literally 2 minutes on the phone to an Irish call centre to extend the price for another year. Have to love that kind of thing, no messing around or threatening cancellation.
Just off phone with Pure - they said that the One Big Switch cost of €30 does not include a phone connection (just broadband) and to add phone to that plan is an extra €31 per month. They said that their best plan with a phone connection is their normal plan which is €40 per month.
I'm moving from Eir, we need to keep the phone line but never make outbound calls on it, so it's just to save that inbound number - any suggestions of who's cheapest? TIA
Migrate the phone to a separate voip provider/plan maybe so you can take advantage of the better broadband deals?
out of contract with Eir, called them, they offered 5GB €59. 1GB €49. 500MB €45.
basically price is price. they have 500mb for €34.99 on their website but would not offer that, with them years.
currently on the 5GB package. considering Sky now, what is the router like that they supply?
I'm almost certain you can port your number over to virgin media a friend of mine did it a few years ago, he's on the new VM ftth. He kept the number for the same reason you did (incoming calls mostly)

How long will you be without internet during this change?
I'm thinking of doing the same, but I don't know if the hassle is worth it for 2euros/month.
I've been through Vodafone, eir and sky and find sky's to be the worst. I'm on a 500mb connection and speeds are around half that. On the others I'd regularly be above 490mb.
I could probably look into it a bit more but I've not had the need. 200 - 250 is still fast. It is just noticeable that the only change was when I'm with sky.
I know my BB is due soon, been with SKY for about 10/11 months. The reason I am unsure how long is I cannot find a DD in relation to same, surely there is no chance they missed billing me for 10 months and if so where do I go from here?
Are you paying via credit card rather than DD?

You can call to give 30 days notice of cancellation, you might be called with an offer or you could call them during this time to see what they can offer.
Otherwise as long as you're staying on the same access network (open eir, SIRO, NBI), just wait until you are outside the contract term or request the new provider to start on the day after the contract end date and use your UAN listed on the bill to switch to another provider. Pure Telecom 500Mb is €30pm with One Big Switch at the moment.
