By all accounts the first settlers were Europeans in the 1700s well before Argentina existed as an independent entity and since Argentina was a Spanish settlement prior to its independence using your logic surely they actually belong to Spain?
Also the brits reasserted control in 1833 several years prior to Argentinas constitution being written in 1853 and it's ultimate feredalisation in 1880 so really none of your argument makes any sense when examined historically.

Mandelson arrested for misconduct in public office
This was completely expected ever since Andrew was arrested.
Seeing Mandelson arrested with a similar cause as for Andrew just makes me think immediately that this is the "justice system" doing the bear minimum to finally act when they have no way to avoid it before and that Mandelson is mostly being arrested because if they arrested Andrew for something similar, they have to arrest Mandelson.
An interesting thing I saw about Andrew over the weekend was someone saying that they still think he should be referred to as Prince Andrew because he did everything he did while Prince and it seems was protected significantly by that title and his connection to the Royal Family from having faced repercussions for his actions earlier (even though the repercussions he is currently facing are the bear minimum of what he is accused).
Mandelson isn't accused of anything in particular sinister while being friends with Epstein (as far as I know), but he is caught very much in the Andrew media glare at this point and while it was rumoured even after he stepped down from being ambassador to the US that he thought he still could get a plum job, I think it's pretty share to say that ship has sailed.
Why so? The are other considerations than propinquity that determine whether one piece of detached territory belongs to one neighbouring state or another. Else Greenland would belong to Canada, Rhodes, Kos and Chios to Turkey and Trinidad to Venezuela.

Mandelson being looked at now largely I feel because of Andrew who they are looking at because of it being the lesser crime doesn't automatically mean that the Government or police or CPS have suddenly decided to turn over a new leaf. Reminds me a bit of the Conservative party before 1997. It only really embraced liberalisation on sexual matters under David Cameron.
I recall that John Major's government wanted to pass No-Fault Divorce but encountered resistance in the House of Lords. At the time, it had about 2,000 hereditary peers who inherited their seats and a few hundred appointed (life peers) peers. The Labour government removed all of them except 91 who are elected by peers. The current Labour government plans to remove the rest. That would make it an entirely appointed chamber. Some Church of England bishops (known as Lords Spiritual) also have seats.
Also homosexuality was still illegal between more than 2 men until the Labour government. Thousands went to prison because of that law. I also recall the Tory government voting down an equal age of consent.
I'm old enough to remember Section 28 of the Local Government Act which effectively banned local councils from engaging with the LGBT community. I think de-facto, Trumps anti-DEI EO's amount to a kind of Section 28, accept also applying to other minorities.

He was arrested but I'm unaware that he has been charged with anything. A case would need to be built against him which could take time (if even possible)
One would think there is more than enough evidence to charge him with something. Seems he may have been engaging in a lot of dodgy / questionable stuff in his ten year role as trade envoy (and that is a very long period to be in one job).
They may have enough to charge him (I have no idea what they have) but there is a big difference in having enough to charge and having enough evidence to ensure a conviction.
There's a whole ton of foreign influence stuff that should be investigated but probably won't be. I was suspicious of money from the US alt-right even before Musk went full-on Nazi.
