Very odd that an Israeli Intelligence source is briefing against American action.
I think there's probably an acknowledgement in Israel that Trump through needing distractions is creating a crisis that will not deliver a win. I think this quote from the Financial Times piece I linked sums it up best.
“He has put himself in a situation where unless he manages to extract a considerable concession from the Iranians to avoid a war he doesn’t want, he’s going to be forced into one,” said Miller. “This is a crisis of his own making.”
Why? The whole point of an intelligence service is to find out the actual reality, not to sugarcoat it to a desired reality.
I would think releasing information which goes against what your own prime minister and American president are saying would be a very dangerous activity. Releasing intelligence reports in general would be illegal.

Anyway there are so many private contractors involved in the US arms industry that it's impossible for interesting news not to leak out, like the fact that the new F-35 are being deployed with gym weights as forward ballast as the radar units aren't ready, which completely undermines the whole reason for their development.

It doesn't. Radar is only part of what makes the F35 an effective weapons system. And switching on radar immediately makes it detectable. They can operate using external radar data feeds.

The US just assumes it's the bestest as is, which is why Trump doesn't understand why Iran hasn't named a golf course after him yet.
The real risk is actually a war without a strategy whereby resources are concentrated too close together. The Gulf War took months to organise before a shot was fired, yet more US troops died by accident than in combat.

The optics of Kushner playing such a big role for the US are not good. The Kushners have been close to Netanyahu for decades. On top of his obvious bias he has no background suggesting expertise on Iran (or diplomacy). I agree with most of that although I’d wonder about what house ‘our house’ is there. Trump is a problem created by Americans that they must deal with. I believe that secular social democracy is the best form of government. We in Ireland are moving closer to that ideal while America under Trump is drifting away. Iran is nowhere close.

The other questions I’d prefer to leave to somebody who knows something about the place. We are all aware of the Kurds and their distinct identity from their struggles in Iraq, Syria and Turkey. The Kurdish parties in Iran have recently agreed to work together for reform. The Azeris are supported by their kin across the border in Azerbaijan. There is a fair bit of mixing too. The Supreme Leader’s father was ethnically Azeri while his mother was Persian. Iran isn’t like Russia east of the Urals. Its many different ethnicities have lived together for centuries and there is a shared Iranian identity.
A friend married to an Iranian made the very interesting observation to me back in the early 90s that even when the mullahs came to power they actually expanded state sponsored family planning and sexual education while we still had Magdellan laundries, the x case, and divorce was still illegal.

In Trump's SOTU speech he once again stated he wants Iran to say they won't build nuclear weapons. Earlier yesterday Iran's foreign minister reiterated the decades long consistent message that they never will develop a nuclear missile.
