This is great news, as I really like Joe Molloy, but couldnt stand the rest of the OTB pundits. Starting next week, with a podcast each day I'd imagine they will do well.

Great interview with Tony Cascarino as well, never knew anything of his back story.
Will be worth watching tomorrow night.
Really insightful interview with the jockey Oisin Murphy this week. I really liked how Joe let him express his emotions and give him a chance to breathe when they were discussing his troubles.
Looking forward to the Xmas emails episode, I loved that Bulgarian TV story from last year. The format suits Joe Molloy so well, very rarely get a bad episode of Bits and Bobs
Love this podcast - consistently high standard. Wish it would diversify away a bit more from the holy trinity of rugby, gaa and soccer. We had an epic European Cross Country championships this week for example - somebody like Jack O'Leary, would be very interesting to hear his journey. Likewise the stellar AFLW performances from Irish players in recent weeks.
Yeah I would agree with that - I always think those kind of stories should be told more.
I think they've been quite candid in saying that they try and balance listener numbers with worthwhile topics as well - and the likes of the PL/Rugby/GAA overage is their biggest audience.
They do use the likes of Bits and bobs to pick up on some of those stories as well.
Ah thats fair to an extent; but I'd say its disproportionate still. I'd say its one episode in 8 or 10 is outside of those three. Like they did the recent one on cricket, and on Charlie Smyth.
Another thing - a bugbear of mine - when the media covers women's sport, more often than not its about 'issues' in womens sport; like the recent episode on ACL injuries or whatever - but women's sports news is not reported well.
Arguably there isn't an audience for it, judging by the very low numbers of women that attend county camogie or LGFA games or the WNT. But its a pity nonetheless. When the constant narrative is about barriers, and how playing field isnt level, and boys get this and girls only get that - it comes across as very whiny and negative, whether justified or not. It would be better if the media could generate the same level of interest in say Katie McCabe's Arsenal as there is in Evan Ferguson or Troy Parrott.
I did think it was notable how little coverage the AFLW season got in the wider Irish media - given how many Irish players are there, and how many counties it touches.
AFL gets F-all attention either. Two Irish players in the grand final and just cursory mentions. Players, male or female, going to play AFL(W) are essentially leaving behind any real interest from the Irish sporting public.
Podcasts like that are damned if they do and damned if they don't. People want stories about sports outside the traditional big ones soccer,rugby gaa which I agree with I find stories outside the sports I follow interesting myself. Then if they do cover those stories people start bleating about "sur nobody watches those sports they are pandering to the minority because they're woke" Those comments are mostly directed at womans sports.
Funny enough - I see OTB GAA has a (very good) interview yesterday with Carla Rowe and Sinead GOldrick yesterday; covers the AFLW experience.
Agree I wish they talked about any other Irish sport but those 3's…the chat is so mundane around them at this stage.

Theres been plenty of divesity in my eyes, a podcast about NFL and Cricket also over the past month.
Dave Hanratty was excellent on yesterday's pod. Could listen to him chat all week - pity he isn't part of the sports team.
The pod has been a great success, I’d imagine. My only bugbear is Will, who is probably on most regularly after Joe. He can be insufferable to listen to at times imo.
Hanratty has his own podcast called NoEncore, which focuses on film and music. Theres been a number of really good interviews with people from the Irish music scene on it.
Molloy really is a golf bore. He couldn’t shut up about Tiger Woods during bits and bobs on Friday and then when it came to the club all Irelands this weekend his question was why does no one care.
Reeeaally struggling with Will Slattery of late… starting to get to where i'll maybe just skip to another pod if I hear him on. He becomes awfully tough going when he starts going on about anything.
I really enjoy listening to him. Really knowledgable on a wide range of sports and brings some interesting tidbits on sports I wouldn't watch
You mustn't get to listen to too many pods so, given the frequency of his appearances!
I'll amend my above comment of "at times" to 90% of the time. He just comes across as very smug and self-satisfied.
I like Will, but I can see how he might be hard to listen to as he is quite forthright with his opinions.
I think that's the nature of sports podcasts though - the same subject matter is being covered on multiple different pods so it really comes down to a question of taste and approach - and people will go with the voices they like which is fair enough.
There's other podcasts that I would overlook for the same reasons.
The annoying part is that I really like Joe Molloy, so I don't quite want to give up on it.
I think my problem with Will isn't even his opinions, it's his need to put the other side down, or make out like other opinions are stupid. Like, having a different opinion isn't enough, he has to position his subjective opinion as right. It's that sort of bullish dunning-kruger know-it-all thing. A silly example is the other day when saying he doesn't like tea or coffee, which is grand, but he has to go the extra step of "not understanding how anyone can like that bland muck". I find Joe deals with it well most of the time alright though, diffusing it, sort of like the grown up in the room.
His voice/tone/pitch is not pleasing to mine ear

Speaking of voice/accent. Is it just me or is yer man Conan's voice the absolute worst? I actually don't mind a Derry accent, but his one just doesn't make sense…
He sounds like he's on the cusp of having to burp all the time… very off-putting
The thing is, if you look back at the previous pages somebody was talking about the way it sounded like an AI generated podcast.
Honestly, I like the different accents, tones, outlooks, attitudes. Otherwise the podcast becomes a glorified echo chamber if everybody agrees. I want debate, I want rancour, I want the tangent about people liking tea.
Its somewhat light-hearted, somewhat serious analysis. If I want somebody to discuss how Team X plays a high-line or 3 at the back or whatever, I'd probably go to their fan podcast.
I now scan OTB and see if they've anything worth listening to and add it to my playlist, once upon a time it was the anchor tenant.
