United States as a Rogue state

The US is now a rogue state. The last time a superpower behaved in such an egregious manner was with the British Empire in the 19th century. Pillaging the world for theri benefit with force and coercion without any consideration for the rights of anyone else. Enriching a ruling oligarchy while distracting their own population from the squalor of the ordinary people. This is gonig to destroy the US ultimately I think.

1 million dollars isn't necessarily gonna go far in a system where you've now inherited the US healthcare system and tax system. Plenty from Greenland already live in Denmark for example so automatic citizenship means they face taxation as a US citizen. Then each medical expense amounts to extortion in the US system. On top of that, they'd be a US territory similar to Puerto Rico so not eligible to vote in state or presidential elections etc.

They'd basically end up with a lot of **** parts of the US that none of them want. So nope, tis fantasy and their stance is clear.

Polling indicates as of January that 85% of the population oppose US ownership of Greenland. The population are aware that this is Trump's effort to extort their resources etc. You can try to rationalise his behavior but the reality is he's a wannabe tyrant trying to bully his way into expansionism....

Also the parties which they elected are pretty clearly opposed to Trump's wants. It's pretty clear cut.

No, the first thing Greenland needs to do is to GET COMPLETELY IN UNDER DENMARK.

Until this era of Bond villain fascism that we all need to keep checking we aren't on drugs to quite believe, has passed, Greenland needs to take on the same status with Denmark as Le Réunion and Guyana have with France, ie, they are French overseas territories, but are part of France that happens not to be contiguous, just like Corsica.

If Greenland (and the Faroes too if they have any sense) were provinces of Denmark proper, like Jutland or Zeeland, it would end this constitutional ambiguity that the Trump White House seems to believe exists and seeks to exploit.

Denmark and Greenland could agree a constitutional amendment to make this happen and have it underwritten by the EU.

When Trump is dead, and some sort of comprehensive North Atlantic / Arctic sovereignty treaty is agreed by every nation with skin in the game, then Denmark could by the terms of their agreement return the destiny of Greenland to Greenlanders, as they see fit.

Greenland has been very clear it doesn’t want to be part of the US, very vocal. And they’ve said if it was between the US or Denmark, it would be Denmark.

I’d give them more credit, “if” is thr important part of your final sentence. No chance the US would offer any kind of realistic money, nor would they accept it, they aren’t as gullible as the average yank.

Greenland has been part of the unitary Kingdom of Denmark, and globally recognised as such, for three hundred and ten years.

None of the states of the United States have than tenure. So how about Canada go and "claim" Minnesota, or Mexico "claim' Texas back again? What would your view be on that?

According to Israeli human right groups there is systematic abuse, both physical and sexual, of detainees within the Israeli prison system. Some of these people are held without trial for months on end. This doesn't mean all Israelis are rapists, but you were quite happy to describe all Palestinians as rapists. Also the point was you are against America stealing land, but you don't seem to be against Israel doing the same thing in the West Bank

I read similar thoughts last week by a Canadian Professor. It would certainly give Donnie's enablers pause for thought. You can't reach them through any moral argument, but you can appeal to their sense of greed by showing them it will make their pockets considerably lighter
