Hoping a New Thread may fix the posting issues.
So according to the BBC report Salah was "largely anonymous" for the match. Obviously the system/managers fault that.
***To be taken with a pinch of salt in reply to some posts trying to tell us Salah has not been a problem this season…
Saturday at 4pm. He surely won’t play in it but will likely stay with the squad.
Egypt’s tactics were apalling. Sat back the entire game. Mo’s pace is nowhere near what it was and the Senegal full back outpaced him for every long ball. With Frimpong finding form, Mo may need to settle for a new role and much time on the bench is he stays with Liverpool.
He should be played up top beside Ekitike or interchanging with him if we are only playing 1 up
Good point, always forget about those matches 🙈
Crazy approach from Egypt manager, they sat in and defended for the whole game, only when Senegal scored did they go forward, and looked great for it. Unreal tactic in a semi so sit in and try get a goal on the break . None of the forwards got a sniff.
Well we don't have any other RB other than Frimpong so I'd imagine that's where he'll be playing.
Peep show fan eh?
Here's a good analysis by Alice on our options for defenders in this Jan window
Micky Van den ven would be a great signing, hopefully vvvd has been convincing him to come to Liverpool
John Heitinga off to spurs.
Yeah he's great. We were linked with him the summer he moved to spurs.
Couple of half interesting articles on the BBC (though no real insight in either)

The understanding is that Salah will remain a Liverpool player until at least the summer, where he will lead Egypt at the World Cup.
What happens after that remains to be seen. Salah is a player who wants to start football matches and will not be content with sitting on the bench.
This being Spurs, that might either be a coaching role or an addition to their squad.
City advancing quickly on a Guehi deal it seems. Pity we didn't get it done last summer. A big miss from our side.
Not much we could have done id imagine. Deal was done but Palace side dropped it
Surprised he's looking to leave now but City a more attractive option
Losing out in Guehi is a disaster honestly. Our CB options are a disgrace.
Virgils contract up in a year
Konate contract up this year
Gomez is finished
Leoni injured and we don't know how good he is.
I'd have hoped we'd be as attractive from a football side, definitely more guarantee that he'll be playing regularly (he'd be overplayed if anything!), he'd definitely be a central pillar of our team for years. Not saying he won't at City, but it's definitely less likely
I do find it very strange there's been no mention of us even trying to sign him now
I don't care if we don't get Guehi.
I DO care if we don't get *any* CB.
Looks like City have offered better personal terms to Guehi than we have, unfortunately little we can do about that, that is the advantage of been allowed to cheat, you can offer wages that normally run clubs can't match
Shambles. As it stands we have 2 centre backs and an injury prone Joe Gomez. Serious questions of Richard Hughes required after this fiasco.
Sorry, Liverpool cab absolutely match it. They just don't want to. Virgil and Konate make what 550K a week combined. Konate will be gone in the summer, Virgil the following summer.
Crying the poor mouth doesn't work. Liverpool can match if not out spend city.
OK they can match it,but the club is run with wage structures, and the minute you give into the demands of one player you will have every player at the club knocking on the door looking for parity. Plus all future signings will look for massive wages as well. Do VVD and Konate really make 550k a week combined? If thats true and add in Guehi potential wage you are looking at over 750k a week on 3 centre halfs. Is that sustainable for us?
2 of 3 of Huges Edwards and Slot should be going end of season or before depending on how the **** show continues to play out.
It will be Slot first to go,the manager is always the easiest to sacrifice.
This is pretty much the position Klopp was in for almost every season he was here. The finance men are in charge at the end of the day, and I don't think anyone is getting the sack for the transfer policy as it has been a relatively low cost for the club owners vs other top clubs. We're always close to the bone on backups and an injury away from calamity (which has ultimately come to pass more than once)
Doesn't look good for Slot's prospects if they don't invest in a centre half/defender this January. Holding onto their chips in case they want to make a change of manager in the summer. One year left in his deal at that point so a relatively small payout.
Still need to get at least 2 defenders in next summer, can't see why not trying to get one in now but I guess depends on their targets, if clubs would sell now, etc.
Guehi to City done.
We've known we're desperate for a CB for about 5 months, I do not understand why we are so slow here.
That's appalling
Maybe we can’t match the wages City are offering?
There’ll be Guehis all over the Ivory Coast and South London waking up on 1st February to bank transfers from Saudi Arabian hedge funds to the tune of hundreds of thousands and even millions.
