Sure, but you’d still expect the pro-Russian faction to be a small minority.
The fact Biden implemented a ban on attacking the russian shadow flight is madness. It is the quickest way to force Moscow to end this war
In fairness, there are significant bodies of opinion in all three countries who would prefer a more pro-Western outlook.
Europe has them too. More than enough to finish off Russia. This nuclear weapons talk is getting old. If he was ever going to use one he would have used one in Ukraine already. It would make no difference at this stage. They're already under the most crippling sanctions of any country ever.
Given their switch to a War economy, I'd say Russia in 5-10 years could very well present an existential threat to Europe. But I'd say this is contingent on them getting themselves out of the quagmire they are in in Ukraine first.
Nate
we can believe both at the same time. Russia has nuclear weapons and probably can end Europe and it has a demented leader.
On the bright side, those Russian assets are going nowhere and remain a bargaining chip if a more reasonable person replaces Putin after the war. Europe’s strength in this fight is economic. That’s where the gap with Russia is most obvious. If we can keep the Ukrainian economy going, Russia’s war effort looks set to fail at some point on its current trajectory.
Yes, why not believe both?
Unsettling news for the kleptocracy in Moscow:
And, reportedly, in the middle of the Mediterranean on a shadow tanker as well:
You’re on the front line, lads, right alongside all those young men you sent to die.
On the one hand you have Eu leaders saying that Russia is losing the war and not making any significant ground on the battlefield and at the same time saying that Russia are an iniment existential threat to the existence of Europe
Which narrative do they want us to believe or are we meant to believe both at the same time?
And no place for the yak, giraffe or camel! Maybe they will be brought into service when the supply of horses run low!
That’s the most amazing thing. You’d think the EU and NATO would have the opposite problem with these countries of opposing any co-operation with Russia whatsoever.
I no, Putin is toast if he agrees to a ceasefire
They do, eventually.
Remember South Africa? It took decades rather than years, but by the end of the 1980's they realised they had to deal with the ANC.
I don't think it will take that long with Russia, BTW.
Balls of steel stuff there.
Their time isn't yet up as an empire especially with the challenger (China), stagnating.
Bicycles, too.

However, the Orcs were just tooling around on the bicycles - no drone action unfortunately. (at least in this video).
Bicycles.
Horses.
Donkeys.
Yep, sounds like the kind of feck-the-consequences thing the Russians would do:
Intelligence findings seen by Associated Press say the so-called “zone-effect” weapon would seek to flood Starlink orbits with hundreds of thousands of high-density pellets, potentially disabling multiple satellites at once but also risking catastrophic collateral damage to other orbiting systems.
Wonder how Musksky would feel about that situation, if his mate Vlad gave it the green light … ?
Yes featuring dead Russian Generals.
"Sanctions don't work"
Has Ukraine targeted Russian military in Belarus yet. Wonder would they target such production.
Belarus has launched an initiative to produce shells for Russia's illegal war in Ukraine.
Lol
I think if and when Putin can no longer purchase the loyalty of the security forces he will be finished.
Maybe more worried about a coup if they have to draw down conscripts from the main population centres.
Would they also (have) be(en) the demographics least favourable to our favourite dictator?
Zelensky has repeatedly said he would accept a ceasefire. Putin just uses these talks as cover for more bombing of civilians, and to delay sanctions. Putin does not care about how many of his own people are killed in this war. Many of them are from the minorities anyway and to Russian nationalists, their lives don't count as much. Typical colonial mentality.
That is insane to see (I just watched the full video of it)
A lesson for Merz.
…and also environmental degradation from pollution to lead poisoning which increased over time in the Roman empire. A continuous inability to ensure a consistent, peaceful political succession was also a factor.
Russia already rejecting the peace proposal without even reading it.
