some serious discussions today about funds for ukraine - this from Poland:
"Polish independence could be under threat if Ukraine is forced to capitulate, Poland's Tusk warns
Poland’s prime minister Donald Tusk has just popped out to brief Polish journalists briefly on the conversations so far, starkly warning them about the stakes of today’s talks.
He told them that the leaders are engaged “in a very difficult process” of trying to come to an agreement, with a group of more critical countries “theoretically most at risk from some sort of retaliatory or financial action from Russia,” primarily Belgium, asking for clear guarantees and safeguards. He says they are looking for ways to make all countries comfortable with what’s being proposed.
But Tusk starkly set out what’s at stake in today’s talks, as he tells reporters that “Polish independence would be under threat if it turns out that as a consequence of poor decisions or a lack of action from Europe, Ukraine war forced to surrender.”
“I want this to finally sink in for everyone – not just for our colleagues here in Europe, but for everyone in Poland as well – that when we talk about the necessity of supporting Ukraine using these Russian funds, it is because we know full well that Ukrainian independence pushes the risk of aggression or war away from Polish borders. Conversely, the fall of Ukraine as a result of this war would mean a direct threat to Poland,” he says." (Guardian UK)
This happened yesterday in ESTONIA. No doubt Putin testing as usual ..
Isnt this something .. and coming from the side thats claiming they are winning the war. I have no doubt Ukraine will come up with some ingenious way of by passing these baricades
Big stuff re UKRAINE funding going on in the halls of the EU:
on a side note. Chelsea should be stripped of any of the titles they won with that Russian pricks dirty money. He ruined football with his buying titles.
Putin should remember the tale of the Three Little Pigs and who came out on the winning side in their encounter with the Big Bad Wolf…I mean,Bear.
I'm not really concerned with what they say, more by what they do. Would much prefer they say nothing and quietly go about assisting Ukraine to dismantle Russia. The concern of course is that their/ our actions are not as strong as they could be. But that of course is the EU way, and its an undisputed fact (IMHO 😂) that the EU is by far and a way the single greatest institution on the planet, in the history of time, at promoting and protecting liberal democracy. As I sit at my desk in Ireland, there is no place or time in history where/ when I could have had it better. The EU is about the only bulwark on earth against both rampant unchecked capitalism and unbridled authoritarianism. With the US and some of the nations that TACO is cosying up to, we're seeing the degree to which those two previously supposed opposites can quite easily become bedfellows.
When the EU is a thorn in the side of both Trump and Putin you know it's on the right side of history.
No doubt the EU will respond with strong words of condemnation, as always.
Reports the US is piling pressure on Europe not to use frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine. Problem is, Ukraine will run out of money in Spring if it doesnt get aid.
Holdouts against using the money include Belgium, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Bulgaria. Most of the frozen assets are in Belgium.
Report on what WH chief of staff Suzy Wiles said in her Vanity Fair interview. She says Trump doesn't believe Putin wants peace. He believes Putin wants all of Ukraine.
Professor Gerdes believes Rubio is on the outer lane of this administration but Wiles seems to like him.
Ukraine says it controls nearly 90% of Kupiansk.
A bit of reporting about Flamingo and the war in general ,including a Ukrainian view of US "guarantees"

Gobshites could have achieved the same aim with a few fishing nets which they could remove whenever they needed but they havent proved to be the sharpest tools in the shed. Russians, like Americans tend to be either very clever or very thick with not much in between, and in both cases not many of the first type join the military.
On a serious note they likely blockaded the port because they'd rather have them blocked off from Sea Drones and run the threat of Flamingos that they can at least see coming than risk them being sunk in port from an underwater drone. Sub Sea Baby probably has them scared shitless after sinking yet another submarine on them and realising the Ukrainians can deploy these underwater surprises against them now.
They're so bad the Vatniks even have their own updated Anthem! XD
Crimea belongs to the Tartars.
Does that mean the ships and subs in the port have effectively raised the white flag for now? I guess Ukraine might not waste resources on them if they're locked in. Maybe focus on the shadow fleet again? I haven't seen any info if Russia still has shadow fleet tankers using the that route after the recent attacks.
I thought they'd already taken this money when they forced the sale. Was it just interest on the 2.5BN going to Ukraine?
Sunk barges are not quick to remove. Now Ukraine need to use aerial drones and Flamingo missiles to blow up the port and the ships.
I think he should specify whether Crimea belongs to the Byzantine Empire, Theodoro, the Mongols, the Genoans and/or Venetians.. etc.
I'd also argue that a lot of nations are willing to have a discussion, but Russia is more interested in dictating.
After all the years of looking for reds under beds, the US now has a home grown red in the White House -- an orange sort of red whose loyalty is no longer to Nato allies but to the invader and nightly bomber of Ukraine and the would be destroyer of Europe.
And this does take the f*cking cake if true.
Dear Russia Fans (if you are still reading this thread). Behold your «nuclear» «power» now….trapping their whole f*cking fleet in a port…because they’re afraid of a navyless Ukraine. If I were you, I’d be….concerned…
Queue operation Spider Web 2.0 whereby an underwater drone sails all the way up to these sunken barges and then surfaces, opened its hatch, and out fly a swarm of attack drones which target the locked in Black Sea Fleet….
If for nothing else they should do it for the craic..
This cant be real can it? Havent they effectively trapped their fleet in the harbour now or are these things easy to remove?
I think he was rumoured to be terminally ill so maybe he terminated
I hope so. Yes, I suppose (assuming war in Ukraine is still ongoing), the Ukrainians could be quite pleased if Putin rolls the dice again and goes for someone else. It will likely drag some of at least the European part of NATO in.
Is that cnut from Chechnya still alive??
Haven't seen his ugly face in months if not years.
Positive report on counter offensives by Ukraine to remove putin's terrorists from their country:

Russia is suspected of infiltrating a European passenger ferry after a sophisticated spying device was found on board.
Two Eastern Europeans were arrested after France launched an investigation into the Fantastic vessel, which operates between France, Italy and North Africa.Officials believe the device could have enabled remote control of critical functions, raising fears that the ferry could have been diverted or used to carry out a hostile act on French territory.

It's just bluff. Apart from just withdrawing and going home, almost nothing would be more in Ukraine's interest than Putrid attacking NATO/ the EU.
Increasingly bellicose noises coming direct from Putin's own gob (i.e. not just his propagandists and officials) as the months pass alright (think he announced that Russia did not want a war with "Europe", but was completely ready for it, a few weeks back).
And why not, he has Xi on board with this imperial project from Day 1, and he now has the US standing back, or even smirking and egging him on too.
I think he's drunk down all his own propaganda, just as with the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, and believes European NATO/the EU is very weak and divided, and won't fight him when he pushes it somewhere else.
I hope I am overly pessimistic, but am coming to believe he will broaden his war some time during Trump's expected term, as mad as that is.
No, they just kill you.

Vučić is trying to pretend that nothing much happened and that he's the leader of Serbia, not Putrid and that he wasn't just humiliated massively.
