Sure hope that lad arrested for antagonizing protesters is OK though. Thoughts go out to Maccabi fans as well for the turmoil they must be going through.

Thoughts and prayers to all involved..

Disobeying what he was told to do by the policeman and continually going over to the opposition taunting them with his SoD was indeed provocative. So YES.

I can imagine the Israelis being apoplectic about Turkey being involved.

Notable that even the US don't trust alleged War Criminal #1 (at large) - especially after his stunt in Qatar.

    • U.S. Vice President JD Vance landed in Israel and visited the U.S. headquarters tasked with maintaining the cease-fire, the Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC). Vance is also expected to meet with Israeli President Herzog and former hostages. Speaking at a press conference, Vance said the U.S. was "not going to force anything" on Israel regarding foreign troops on the ground in Gaza, but added that Turkey has a "constructive" role to play.
    • Citing sources in the Trump administration, the New York Times reported that Vance's two-day visit is meant to ensure that Netanyahu does not violate the cease-fire and launch another offensive in Gaza. The sources have become increasingly concerned that the PM will derail the deal.

Were the Palestinians tortured and kneecapped by Hamas also guilty of provocation?

More evidence that Israel is under a short US leash and won't be allowed to derail the fragile peace.

"Instead of airing the opening session of the Knesset on Monday, Israeli TV studios should have broadcast the 60 Minutes interview with U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The Knesset may be more entertaining, but it is irrelevant.

The real decisions shaping Israelis' fate are being made in Washington.

The envoys' message from the interview was clear: they are managing the situation closely and will not allow the cease-fire to collapse.

The incidents in Gaza that followed the broadcast showed that in practice"

Whats with the non sequiturs? The activist was obviously telling lies about why he was arrested. As a lawyer he should know better.

Have you finally lost it Blanch ?? That doesn't make any kind of sense. Next thing you'll be saying that the starving kids murdered while queueing for food were a threat to the IDF.

Seems Israel can't bear to wind down the starvation of Gazans - a breach of the deal of course.

Israel exterminated 20,000 students - seems the rebuilding of Gaza and Palestine is going to take a long time.

Around 750 metric tons of food are now entering the Strip daily, the UN World Food Program said, adding that this amount still falls short of its daily target of 2,000 tons. "To be able to get to this scale-up, we have to use every border crossing point right now," a WFP spokesperson told a Geneva press briefing, noting that only two of Israeli-controlled crossings into Gaza are currently operational, Kerem Shalom in the south and Kissufim in the center.

The Palestinian Education Ministry in Ramallah said that the number of students killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to more than 19,910.

So a clown being provocative and refusing a police order thus getting himself arrested is now a victim.? No wonder you're on the wrong side Blanch with that logic.

Netanyahu's hollybop destinations grows ever smaller.

Isn't it gas that the Israeli Govt think it's perfectly normal for countries to "welcome" an alleged War Criminal. They're not quite reading the room…

Canada is prepared to honor the International Criminal Court's warrant to arrest Netanyahu if he enters the country, Canadian PM Carney said in an interview published last week by Bloomberg.

An Israeli government spokesperson told reporters that Carney "should, of course, reconsider this" and welcome Netanyahu, "the leader of the only Jewish state and democratic country in the Middle East, to Canada," Israeli government spokesperson Shosh Bedrosian told reporters.

Canada should take a leaf out of Israel's playbook by inviting him over and then arresting him.

But you have already said that Hamas had no chance of winning a war against Israel, so it seems strange to me that you are now also saying that Israel — under no existential threat from Hamas by your own admission — had no other alternative than the wholesale destruction of Gaza, the slaughter of tens of thousands of people, and the creation of a horrendous humanitarian crisis. I mean, which is it?

Israel apparently has a right to defend itself with extreme offensive action against an enemy that stands no chance against it — a right which extends to mass killing of civilians — but apparently no such equivalent right or justification exists for any form of Palestinian resistance. This is in the context where it is Palestinians who clearly have much more reason to fear the destruction of their civilisation than Israel does, and much more reason to believe that such destruction is demonstrably ongoing. And if you justify Israel's killing of children en masse by reference to some vague notion that they had no other alternative strategy, then why is it not equally valid for the people whose civilisation is under far greater threat to rely on similar justification?

Ultimately, it seems to me that your understanding of the right to defend oneself is predicated more so on the might to defend oneself. And that's why ultimately the discrepancy you demonstrate as regards the Palestinian violence versus Israeli violence arises.

Are they going to support the Gaza ceasefire using the same methods as Israel?

Maybe they sent members of the Para regiment. What could possibly go wrong?…

is it not the IDFs fault that Hamas are knee capping the starving genocided Palestinians?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,132 ✭✭✭SafeSurfer

The IDF are arming criminal gangs in Gaza and killed the police (a war crime) destroyed the courts and destroyed the jails but in my view the ones pulling the trigger or dropping the bombs are responsible for the people they kill.
    Do you agree?

Aid only trickling through. It would be so easy for an international military force to be deployed at crossings and force the aid through past settlers and zionist scum.

The UN’s International Court of Justice is expected to issue an advisory opinion today on Israel’s responsibility to facilitate aid in Gaza.

The Hague-based court’s anticipated ruling comes after the UN asked it to clarify Israel’s obligations, as an occupying power, towards the UN and other bodies “including to ensure and facilitate the unhindered provision of urgently needed supplies essential to the survival” of Palestinians.

Israel, which has repeatedly cut off or heavily restricted aid in the Strip throughout the war, effectively banned the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), the main provider of aid to Gaza, earlier this year.

Yesterday, the Gaza media office said just 986 trucks have entered Gaza since the latest ceasefire, significantly short of the 6,600 trucks intended to have entered by Monday.

Germany still using administrative bureaucracy as excuse for not assisting Palestinian children in need of medical care. Germany really has emerged from the shadows of the last 80 years.
