At this point you can only call it the “cult of the leader”. The only positive about Trump is he wants isolationism. Wants the USA to stay out of wars. Everything else he does is playing to the camera (which is extremely good at) in his own real life reality TV programme. Where is never wrong and always correct.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Extremely wealthy people creating a population political and social divide so they can pillage away in the background. It amazes me how most people can’t see this for what it is. Classic divide and conquer and meanwhile the average Joe gets a smaller and smaller piece of the pie whilst fighting their neighbour for some kind of bragging right or sense of belonging. Crazy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,992 ✭✭✭✭briany

People say this as if all social divides are essentially constructs creates by the wealthy to keep the masses down. From what I can see, if you look at the whole of history, the masses largely like to divide themselves, because belonging to a particular tribe/cause/identity is fairly fundamental in the human experience. It's not the best part of it, and it would indeed be better to realise we're much more similar than dissimilar and all of that, but on the whole timeline of human history, the civilisation thing is only very recent and we're very much still figuring it all out.

Not to say that the wealthy will not often take advantage of that phenomenon to enrich themselves or protect their power, but it's all a bit more fundamental.

    To recap:

Trump assassination attempt was by a gun loving registered republican.

Would be Trump golf course assassin had been a first term Trump supporter.

And now assassination of Kirk is a fan of a rightwing agitator who thought Kirk wasn't right wing enough.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 410 ✭✭scuba8

When Kirk was shot the right immediately went on hate filled rants against the Democrats and the left. A bullet casing found at the scene had TRN stamped on it. Then Fox and the other maga outlets jumped on it spreading the lie that this ment Trans. This played into their demonising of the trans community, Nancy Mace anyone. According to these maga morons civil war was the only answer. It turned out that TRN was a trade mark of the company that manufactured the bullets. The shooter wasn’t trans. The shooter turned out to be white, straight and from a family that were fully behind trump. The maga morons have been scrambling around trying to concoct scenarios that would enable them to continue with their perverse sense of outrage at the left. Nancy Mace, for example, called for the death penalty strait away. When it was established that the shooter was not trans but was in fact from a maga family and was following the far right Nick Fuentes suddenly we should be praying for the shooter. The hypocrisy is sickening.

To add a conspiracy theory to that.

Any "intelligent" potential political assassin might well know by now to conceal (or at least muddy) their own political persuasions so as to point a finger at their political opponents in the aftermath (and following their own death if they plan it that way)

No idea if this guy might have thought any way along those lines.

We may need a Jane Marple to sift through the threads of evidence .It is starting to feel that virtual reality may be one of the players in this "Murder in Utah".

He's backed out of sending in troops to Chicago.

    TACO strikes again.

    https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/celebrity/articles/prince-andrew-melania-trump-shocker-181440729.html

"The claims against Prince Andrew, which make up a whole chapter, remain. Both Donald and Melania Trump claim they were introduced by Paolo Zampolli, a modeling agent, at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998 and that Epstein had absolutely nothing to do with the two of them meeting. Lownie, however, has not been the first to report that Epstein introduced the President and the first lady."

Perhaps the Trumps will have a press conference in London next week to dispel all these rumours, would think Epstein sorted out Andrew with Melania but then Donald wanted in and that messed up Epstein's plans, more than likely Trump did not want to pay for introductory services, which is par the course, then the shyte hit the fan.

That’s weird. We should tell them about the few posters here who know for sure that Kirk wasn’t a racist at all

You mean my post that began with the word "motive"

    And I share the motive.

Where is the part in my post where I blame anyone.….

You are welcome to review my post and let us all know where I attribute blame.

    Looking forward to your reply.

Would passports be one of the means of identification that some people want voters to carry at voting centres on voting day so they can cast their vote?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,631 ✭✭✭FAILSAFE 00

Hmm, no, that's simply the facts.

The shooters partner is assisting the FBI.

With some of the insane conspiracy theories posted here is the last few days that is quite a rich post to make lol.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,631 ✭✭✭FAILSAFE 00

This is what happens. The f around, find out meme comes to mind.

Assassinate a Christian conservative who debated people in an open forum. That sent out a message that talking/debating is pointless.

I am expecting things to get much more violent now in the U.S. Especially from the far right.

I can see the fear in a lot of left leaning media/influencers eyes, and shock. Many have had their article headlines and video headlines called out for misinformation and out right lies regarding Charlie Kirk comments.

I am hoping that they start being more factual and tone down the hatred because the outcome is not what they want regardless of what they may think.

can you give me some examples of the hatred and lies ? I find your post to be somewhat ambiguous. I saw Fox News declare war and Trump blame the radical left for the murder and Rupert Murdoch spread lies about a trans conspiracy, has there been an equivalent response on CNN/NBC or by Democratic politicians ?
Prior to the murder I saw Laura and nick fuentes making fairly aggressive statement about Kirk.

I do agree there is a now a horrible threat of further violence. I think Trump should now try to unite the country, to calm the situation, that’s what a president should do.

Ah yes - those well know advocates of free speech "the *checks notes* Nazis"!! Lol

Did the feelings of those fascists get hurt?

    Good. Fu** 'em.

And people can tell that you're hoping that the left will be frightened of those tiki torch carrying a-holes. Not a chance. One lesson from history is never to appease a fascist.

PS - when the neo-nazis start marching because your hero got shot, you should probably rethink which side your on....

Elect a clown... Expect a circus

    And….

He could be an Alien from outer space. What does that matter.

What matters is his motivate. Which we now know thanks to the shooters trans partner and his family who are assisting the FBI.

The question is who radicalised him to fuel him up to go and assassinate Charlie Kirk. IMO, clearly the left leaning media/ influencers, etc, are highly responsible for the lies and dangerous rhetoric around Charlie Kirk.

Look at the rubbish post from Stephen King, tweeting out to 6.9 million followers accusing Charlie Kirk of advocating for gays to be stoned and within hours King apologised and made a post acknowledging that Charlie had never done so. Dangerous remarks. One example of lies put out there that some nut with a gun could act on.

I suppose this is where the investigation really starts. Looking at his devices to see who he was interacting with online, what content he was consuming (You can bet it wasn't anything right leaning, that's for sure)

You've been posting misinformation throughout this thread. You're confident on the shooter's motivations while the reality is they're far from clear.

A trans partner not been confirmed.
So you’re just making stuff up…..promoter “factual” information.

Who radicalised him to use guns?
    His republican family.

I am opposed to Charlie Kirk's views.

But regarding where the political violence is coming from, I think its from both sides.

I recall around 2017 when Milo Yiannopoulis was due to speak at Berkely University, California, and buildings were set on fire by Far Left agitators.

    Both sides do this.

I strongly believe that to some extent, the Far Right are copying the "direct action" tactics of the Far Left.

The book "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky (1971) was originally from a Far Left perspective, but I think the Far Right probably are taking a leaf from the book too.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rules_for_Radicals#:~:text=Rules%20for%20Radicals%3A%20A%20Pragmatic,before%20his%20death%20in%201972.

Several conservative figures in the US accused the Left of employing the tactics in that book, but also recommended the conservatives study these tactics. These include Steve Bannon.

I asked Chatgtp about this and it said:

Are the Far Right copying tactics from Saul Alinskys book "Rules for radicals"

    ChatGPT said:

Great question — and yes, in many ways, some figures on the populist and far Right have explicitly borrowed from Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals (1971), even though Alinsky was a leftist community organizer.

    Here’s the breakdown:

    1. Alinsky’s Core Tactics

    Alinsky emphasized:

    • Making activism personal and local (“pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it”).
    • Using mockery, ridicule, and theater as powerful weapons.
    • Leveraging pressure outside official channels when institutions seem unresponsive.
    • Organizing ordinary people to feel empowered against larger systems.

    2. Far-Right Adaptation

    • Targeting individuals: Right-wing activists and media figures often personalize opponents (e.g., attacking individual school board members, election workers, journalists), echoing Alinsky’s guidance.
    • Ridicule as a weapon: Meme warfare, trolling, and satirical online campaigns on the populist right mirror Alinsky’s idea that humor and ridicule disarm opponents.
    • Grassroots mobilization: Local confrontations at school boards, mask mandate hearings, and town halls look strikingly like the confrontational community organizing Alinsky pioneered.
    • Delegitimizing institutions: Alinsky encouraged treating entrenched power as illegitimate. The far right uses similar logic when challenging elections, federal agencies, or universities.

    3. Explicit Acknowledgement

    • Newt Gingrich and Glenn Beck in the 2000s openly discussed Alinsky, sometimes warning about “the left using Alinsky,” but also advising conservatives to study his tactics.
    • Tea Party organizers referenced Rules for Radicals as a playbook (even if ideologically opposed to Alinsky).
    • Steve Bannon has praised Alinsky’s strategic thinking, despite ideological differences, and framed populist disruption as a form of “weaponized Alinskyism.”

    4. Key Difference

The far right often reframes Alinsky’s ideas in a populist, nationalist, or religious context rather than a working-class or socialist one. The method is borrowed, but the message is inverted.

    Milo, I remember him.

He seems to have dropped off the map in recent years. He was always on so many podcasts or other media and then it was like he vanished

You've declared that we know the motives and that's not remotely true at this point in time. It's also based on a story that seems to be entirely unclear. The roommate being trans is far from certain, the story also seems to jump between roommate and romantic relationships. But you've concluded you know the motive...
