Instead we have Government ministers meeting them behind closed doors and talking to them on the phone.

Yeah I can see Israel annexing most of Gaza. And the West Bank as its strategically important. Same with th Golan Heights. They took them in a previous war I think but gave them back to Syria. Syria is now a failed state so Israel might decide to take them and keep them.

Not so sure about southern Lebanon. If Hezbollah are neutered, I think Israel will lose interest.

I don't think Jordan and Egypt have anything to worry about from Israel but I could see them being nervous about an influx of Palestinian refugees. They've had bad experiences with them in the past.

To be fair, Jordan already has over 2 million Palestinian refugees so they have taken their fair share. It puts quite a strain on the Jordanian economy.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

We all laughed at the AI Gaza video but its basically the plan isn't it, exterminate directly or through starvation the Palestinians and expel the rest, then settle it with American and other western Jews. They'll be pariahs and will lose support among democratic western nations but will bank on the Republicans installing themselves as the permanent government in the US and backing them.

Assuming they even bother, we have people posting on this thread who'll jump through hoops to defend this level of depravity. I used to wonder what it must have been like in 1930s Germany but I don't need to anymore.

I’d say Kushner’s antics have more to do with Netanyahu’s rage over France’s planned recognition of Palestine than anything in US politics. They’re not about problems in France anyway.

pressure on EU to act against Israel increases:

An unprecedented number of former EU and national ambassadors, as well as former senior EU officials, have signed a fresh letter urging the EU to take tougher action against Israel over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Is anyone buying their bullshit 'accident' excuse anymore?

Never bought any of their lies - they've been doing it for decades.

This has been a difficult week for Gaza - confirmation of famine, commencement of forced expulsions from Gaza City, the continuing slaughter of civilians including journalists and medics, the rise in deaths by starvation.
I think it's fair to say, with the obvious evaporation of posts defending/justifying the Gaza Genocide that there is no longer any credible defence/justification possible.

I hope all those who posted such defences/justifications have taken a moment to reflect on what they did, and are utterly ashamed of themselves.

I also hope those in power stop the useless verbiage and take concrete actions to prevent the obliteration of an entire population.

    Probably foolish hopes.

Amazing that the media get's it's news from one side and reports on it without knowing if it is true or not, just repeating propaganda from people who have consistently lied and been found out they have. Reuters journalist can't handle it anymore from the sound of it. A scathing statement and a big FU to her former employers.

Israeli media reported last night that no mistakes were made and that the double bomb attack on the hospital was 100% deliberate and had been ordered by senior commanders in the IDF. Not entirely clear who or what their target was, but no errors were made by troops on the ground and the attack was planned and coordinated.

from the guy who copy and pastes “news” from Russian bots 🤣

If a prime minister says something, then the news outlets will report on what they have said. As The BBC isn’t actually on the ground in Gaza, it will report on what they are being told, by the Hamas health ministry, WHO etc and will caveat each statement with “according to…” or similar.
where possible, it will carry out a fact check using BBC verify which gives all the actual facts as best they can report them.
this is their post event report on the hospital strike, which I think is pretty good journalism.

Horrible and intolerable say supine politicans in response to the latest Israeli atrocity, who will stick to condemnatory words rather than taking concrete actions against Israel because they are afraid of what Donnie will do in return. Cowards!

According to channel 14- one of the most watched in Israel- they were all working for Hamas somehow, therefore the killings were justified. We even have seen this agenda pushed on here that criticism of Israel was tantamount to being pro Hamas. Now imagine if a state started killing Israeli journalists on the tenuous basis that were seen as sympathetic to the current Israeli government, the posters staying silent on these killings would be in uproar over that

Ironic coming from the poster who misrepresents posts.

I asked you a question yesterday which you might be good enough to answer - particularly as you posted a rather robust and clear accusation:

Please quote the post suggesting Jews should be "brutally murdered, starved to death, suffering genocide"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Randycove

I ignored you because you are spouting a load of bollocks and I’m not interested in playing your little games.
and a big **** lol at you accusing me of misrepresenting posts 🤣

The BBC and other media would never preface any report on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine with 'Russia would never target innocent people, according to the Russian government/defence forces'. They would never retort to a Ukrainian or other person being interviewed 'but Russia says it does not do [what you are accusing Russia of doing]'

The Star of David is the new Swastika.

    Hard to argue against it.

Ilan Pappé has said it multiple times before. If you want to know the truth w.r.t Occupied Palestine, just see what's reported internally. I suppose the fact they are a nation of liars makes them generally suspicious of being hoodwinked by their own media.

All the gaslighting happens externally. It's why I (and Dmc I'd imagine) would generally try cite Occupied Palestine sources; 1. they're probably more likely (ironically) to be true, 2. its from the horses mouth…

you're looking for examples of something the poster says never happens. 🤔🤣

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭Randycove

which is kind of my point. If Russia doesn’t say anything, how can you report on it?

100% agree and this drive me round the bend.If you ever wanted to see how pathetic politician's are now is the time i believe more than any other time in history where we see the how spineless and useless they are-Has any politician said something noteworthy with a bit of rage and gusto?Like us normal humans are feeling?…You could say the same about the UN possibly…..The same goes on seeing just how the world order is…..If the US has your back-Do as you please……Nice to see "moderate" Israeli's protesting, burning tyres to block traffic etc…Took em long enough but still plus massive protests planned for today outside Ministers houses….Make of that what you will because im pretty sure its the hostages the protesting is for ….If those hostages were not in Gaza what would it look like?Im not condemning it but you play with fire you get burned sometimes…….

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,514 ✭✭✭dmcdona

Good point - seems most Israeli protests are around the return of the hostages only. I've seen only a few reports of those protests extending to highlighting the plight of the Palestinians.

So when all the hostages are returned, will the majority of Israelis simply revert to form and ignore the Gaza Genocide?

There have been a lot more "letters" of protest coming out in recent days directed toward politicians and leaders. Coupled with public protests, its difficult to see why there isn't (currently) anything more than verbal condemnation from the politicians given the public outcry for action.

It is all rather depressing tbh. And the Genocide continues unabated…

the Star of David is a symbol that represents Judaism in general. It also forms part of the Israeli flag. It is a very different to the swastika and your statement, imho, crosses over to anti semitism. If some claimed that post 9/11, or the ISIS rampage, that the star and crescent is the new swastika, we would call that anti Islamic, so we should be careful with the Star of David.

If there is a 'war' on (copyright all Zionist bots), then surely all Israeli journalists who support the IDF are now legitimate targets for assassination in this crazed world they have created for themselves.
