Bizarre that Itoje got MoTM.
James Ryan had a brilliant game. If McCarthy is still crocked - I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting next week. Ireland doesn't have many world class players - James was world class for a few seasons and he's not far of that level still.

After a poor first 45 minutes thought Lowe grew into the game which was good to see from an Irish perspective. Aki had a strong second half too. Telling he stayed on even though he cramped at end.
Fair play to Martin Johnson on Australian tv for standing strong and defending the ref on the penalty call there. I can understand the Oz point of view but on balance it was the correct decision imo.

Curry's work rate is trash in comparison to Morgan and VdF. At one point JGP sprinted past him to make a tackle in open play. He took his try well sure, but he's so lacking in comparison to what the others bring imo

I have a weed issue at the minute. St John's wart the biggest part of that problem. I chopped them down but they'll grow back fast.
I've a new weedkiller on the way, unfortunately it's not eco friendly, but sometimes these things have to be done.
A little tip in case you do a bit of gardening. For most early weeds a mixture of vinegar, washing powder and salt does the job.
15 tackles in 55 minutes doesn't strike me as a poor work rate.

Behind only Conan (24) and Itoje (20) who both played the full 80 and Porter (16) who came off at the same time. And fewer missed than all of those.
He had one absolutely brilliant intervention where Aus broke free and were trying to get it out wide with huge numbers and he absolutely snuffed it in midfield. So it wasn't just run of the mill tackles either.
We don't have his ruck stats which would also be an important factor, but I thought he had a fairly busy game.

Dan Sheehan's try scoring ability is freakish. Done some fag packet calculations and I think he's now scored 63 tries in 110 appearances for Leinster, Ireland and the Lions. He scores all sorts whether from behind a maul, burrowing over the line, or running in from 40 metres out. He doesn't shirk any defensive responsibilities either. Never seen a player quite like him.

Carrying isn't the strongest part of James Ryan's game, but he played a huge part in this try. Made 5m off shite ball after Russell was a scragged in the tackle. Shout-out to Jac Morgan for two huge clear outs as well; one at the start of the clip and the other, already infamous one, right before the Keenan try.
Delighted he came on and made a huge physical impact, not strong in tight carries but If he's getting the ball at pace he was always makes yardage seeing him that Bulls at Croke Park there was real venom to his carries.
Only 90k there tonight, I know it's Melbourne but don't think it's been hard to get any tickets for this tour. No need to do package tours for the Lions anymore given the locals are priced out of it.
