Reports stating that Israel have launched an attack against Iran
It is good that opinion pieces like this are published in Israel. It means that there is a free press where people can air views opposing the government. The free market of ideas.
Now if only we can have the same in Iran or Hamas run Gaza, I wonder what would they say about their own government?
Amazing how posters can make light of the deaths in gaza and then make accusations about other posters in the next breath. Really easy to dehumanise people you don't like, I guess.
And there we have it! As well as a Hamas supporter, I'm now anti-Semitic. Straight out of the Israeli playbook. Good on you.
Seems your post actually thought that Israel were cr*p at Genocide and could do better? Or did I (and other posts) miss some nuance there?
So in summary is it fair to say that you don’t believe Jewish people have a right to land in Palestine just because they lived there 2000 years ago and also that you condemn the Israeli shooting, bombing, burning and starving of the population of Gaza. Great. Progress.
not sure what you think you missed. You're the only one of the 2 of us who thinks it's genocide. If you think safe zones, leaflet drops, phone calls, house to house searches defines genocide, then fire away.
Isn't it a pity that Israel has murdered more journalists in Gaza in the last 18 months than all other wars combined?
Couldn't be because they have something to hide, could it? Got caught out executing those 15 medics though didn't they.
Why is Israel treated differently
Because Israel is the home of the Jews.
Let's be honest here, Israel has not been nor will be the only country that has killed civilians in combat.
Assad has killed multiple of that in Syria, and it largely went unnoticed.

Again, with the personal comments. Do you have anything else?
I am quite aware that Israel secretly helped Hamas get off the ground initially in the 80's in an attempt to weaken Fatah and the PLO. I know that, but it backfired as Hamas became too powerful and too radical. Saying that, though it is not true to say that it was Israel who funded Hamas for the October 7th attacks. To say that is an outright lie and plays into the anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Is that the stuff you are peddling these days?
It is common knowledge that Iran funds, trains and arms Hamas. Here is the BBC with all the details about this arrangement.

But critical thinking eh?
Do you have an actual question or debating point, or are you talking to myself in the 3rd person in some proxy debate?
Nothing you have said, I have said by the way.
So unless you have something to say, perhaps leave it out.
Once again, you appear to be unfamiliar with what you are posting. Might I suggest you look up the UN definition of Genocide? And perhaps check out who agrees that the war in Gaza is Genocide? Hint - it includes a previous prime minister of Israel.
You might also have a little read of the ICJ provisional measures directed at Israel to prevent Genocide - measures Israel ignored twice and continues to ignore.
I've no problem having an honest factual debate - but the levels of ignorance of basic facts is astonishing. But not surprising for those who just blindly parrot Israeli rhetoric and Hasbara.
Yea…. no doubt some journalists have been killed (which is a pity) but I'd wager many of them are these citizen journalist types, with a Twitter account and a camera phone, being told what to report on by their Hamas overlords…
Are you responding to your own posts now,?
It it a pity, aye? **** me, the callousness of people will never fail to shock me
Personal comments? Nothing personal in my post I don't think? But if you think it was, apologies if I hurt your feelings.
Interesting that you complain about imaginary personal attacks and then accuse me of peddling antisemitic conspiracy theories. But standard tactics so no surprise - and no need to apologise.
Once again, I'll refer you back to the article clearly stating Israel fully allowed cash into Gaza and supported Hamas as recently as 2023. I guess you can lead a horse to water…
And for the record - I never stated that Israel funded the Oct 7th attacks.
If you read the post carefully, there is a question there. Perhaps you'd answer it? I'd be interested in the response.
Wager away - but if you want your point to stick, provide a source.
Here's one to consider whilst you find the opposing view that matches yours:

Armada Of USAF Tankers Just Deployed East Over Atlantic Spurring Speculation (Updated)
So, what you are saying is that Israel funded the October 7th attacks?
You do know this has been debunked by various outlets?
Are Israelis barred from leaving Israel-?-
Apart from diplomats-
It is really quite shocking to see the defence of Iran around here. You would think they were some kind of benign hero.
It is all down to a strange visceral hate of Israel held by certain posters. This shift from Gaza to Iran has made that clear.
Aye- those tankers will scare the B- Jesus out of the Iranians-
I'm sure this is nothing....
On the actual topic and hand, lets get back to that.
Drones have been reported over Tehran which gives the indication that Isreal do indeed have control over the skies of the capital.
There are questions as to how many defensive missiles Israel has left, but also questions as to how many ballistic missiles Iran has left. Given that IAF jets now fly freely over Iran, many of the launchers and missles have been destroyed on the ground. We were all expecting this huge response from Iran but what they threw back has been weak and ineffective. Are they that weak or are they playing a longer game?
With the strike on the Iranian TV, its main propaganda outlet, its clear it wants to destabilise the state and go over its institutions. There is also talk about mission creep, which may or may not end well for Israel.
Who would have thought that on October 6th 2023 was the eve of the reshaping of the middle east. Hamas decimated. Hezbollah neutered and decapitated. Assad was overthrown, and Syria is now United under a new leadership and government. Now its Iran's turn to make the change.
Well it's no coincidence Bibi and Putin have expressed past admiration for each other.
this is disingenuous in the extreme. I’ve been watching your posts for days now and not sure why anybody is entertaining you any more.
Let’s for one second say that you’re correct and Israel have put in place safe zones, leaflet drops, phone calls and house to house searches; that means a genocide couldn’t possibly be taking place? Because that’s exactly what your post claims.
Yes they are.
Why would any sane person warn people to move if all they want to do is wipe them out?
Christ almighty. You’re aware they’ve moved civilians to so called safe areas and then proceeded to bomb them? It’s so easy to be brave on your keyboard. Have you ever imagined if it was your family member suffering through this? Your daughter having an amputation done without anaesthetic? The previous poster was right, your comments are absolutely disgusting.
Certain groups of people would support Satan himself if it meant a bolstering of their hatred for Israel.
If there is a visceral hatred of Israel it hasn't happened in a vacuum. I have a visceral reaction to children being deliberately starved, and maimed. You might remember the photo of the traumatised child in the back of the ambulance in Syria, I had the same reaction when I saw that.
Perhaps you want to frame it as irrational hatred in an attempt to excuse Israel by suggesting it's all a witchhunt.
Funny thing is Putin and his supporters had similiar criticism of the ICC when they went after Putin. I doubt you characterised strong and vocal criticism of Russia on the Ukraine thread as a visceral hatred of Russia. I suspect you viewed it as perfectly reasonable in response to what Russia was doing in Ukraine .
